Keeping this view in mind, Pragya Prabodhini in Maharashtra is striving hard for the upliftment of Pardhi brethren that were once regarded as criminals due to divide and rule policies of British. Pragya Prabodhini have made them lead a life filled with self respect and has enlightened their lives.
In Amravati district of Maharashtra, Pardhi community people reside in 48 ‘bedas’ situated in 14 talukas. By conducting a detailed survey, Prabodhini has initiated the welfare work in 26 bedas. Festivals such as Raksha Bandhan, Ganeshotsav, Deepawali, Makar Sankranti and Hanuman Jayanti are celebrated with religious fervor. From last three years, Durgotsav is being enthusiastically celebrated at Mardi Beda.

Jammu, January 19: On 19 January, 23 years back lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their birthland by the pakistan sponsored terrorists which were backed by the islamists forces in Kashmir and ignored by the Government of India. 19 January is generally recognized as the beginning of this process of ethnic cleansing as a result of which the Kashmiri Pandits were hunted out of the Kashmir Valley.

With an aim to create concern towards environment among common men, some karyakartas established Paryavaran Dakshata Manch at Maharashtra’s Thane city. The manch started creating environment awareness through activities such as nature clubs, street plays, lectures, etc and a team of environment-conscious citizens was built within a short period of time. Experts from various fields started getting associated with the manch and an ‘environment school’ was established soon.
