Vatican City: Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday welcomed the Vatican newspaper's first edition in Malayalam language.

L'Osservatore Romano's Malayalam edition "is a highly
significant event in the life of the Church in India," Benedict said in
a message issued by the Vatican.

Is Christian-aggression helping Hinduism?

I have always said in discussions on various forums that today nothing is helping Hinduism more than Christian aggression and pseudo-secularist policies of this country. Things happening today are like painful surgeries which will improve health of Hinduism in long term.

I always try to see the other side of the story...the long term conseq.

Catholics helping Hindus boycott 'The Love Guru'

LONDON: A leading Catholic group in the US is helping Hindus boycott the controversial new Mike Myers movie "The Love Guru".

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has
classified the movie as offensive. Hindu leader Rajan zed, who is
leading a campaigning against the movie for "lampooning" Hindus, is
happy that other religious groups have taken up the cause and called
the USCCB move a "remarkable inter-faith gesture", contactmusic.com
reports.

USCCB officials called the film "vulgar and tasteless", saying it
"wallows in endless penis jokes and fairly yucky potty humour".

Zed said: "We are thankful to the Conference of Catholic Bishops for
feeling the pain of the Hindu community and categorising 'The Love
Guru' as morally offensive. Today it is Hinduism, tomorrow Hollywood
might attempt to denigrate another religion."

Most of the donations go toward relief work, rural development, medicine and education. "Maintenance of priests/preachers/other religious functionaries" is 15th on the list of purposes, receiving $21 million dollars of all foreign funding. Of the fifteen top donor agencies given in a chart on page 20, eight are Christian, seven are secular and none are Hindu:
