National feelings

Fight to finish: Need of the hour

There is nothing wrong if journalists too come to streets wearing black
badges to register their resentment directly, besides giving wide
coverage to the ongoing agitation in Jammu. If the agitators win or
loose, we journalists too will be affected..

ENOUGH
WATER has flown down the river Tawi and enough blood has been spilled
on roads but Vohra’s dictatorial administration is not moved. Jammuites
have been crying hoarse for justice but nobody is listening. And all
the while Omar is elated that his remarks have hit the right chords in
Kashmir and so called secularists in India and to top it all our
national media has maintained a criminal silence for the past one month
since the agitation erupted in Jammu.

'Advani most favoured for PM post'

NEW DELHI: The UPA will win 183 to 193
seats on a vote base of 33 per cent in the Lok Sabha if general elections are
held today, said an opinion poll conducted for a news magazine.

The
opposition NDA is tipped to get 179 to 189 seats on a 32 per cent vote share,
according to the poll conducted by CVOTER among 9,604 respondents across 54 Lok
Sabha seats on July 9 and 10 in the aftermath of Left parties withdrawing
support to the UPA government.

The survey also covered issues like
the performance of the Manmohan Singh government, best PM candidates and whether
the nuclear is pro-India.

Manekshaw funeral: NRIs post angry mails

Indians living abroad have been quick
to express their angst over the response, rather its absence, of the top Indian
leadership to the final farewell for Field Marshal Sam
Manekshaw.

Kashmir Dispute, Islam and the West

Today Geelani, dubbed as ‘hardliner Islamist’ seeks nothing but UN intervention in Kashmir. And if New Delhi continues to push its agenda in Kashmir and the West continues its indifference, tomorrow fault lines may be different. Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir would have no choice but to safeguard their Muslim identity. What at present is a simple resistance movement is fraught with the risk of getting morphed into a Muslim resurgence against Hindu rule, cautions Naseer A Ganai

Nuclear deal: RSS is the winner...why?

ON TUESDAY (July 8), the Left parties will meet to decide on the
future of giving support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA). Left
parties had written a letter to the UPA asking it to reply by July 7
(Monday) on the issue that whether government is going ahead with the
nuke deal or not. On Monday, the Left parties had received a reply form
the UPA, but it has only requested the Left parties to attend one more
meeting with the UPA. The role of Samajwadi Party (SP) in the entire
tug of war remained crucial and with a clear assurance from the side of
Amar Singh that SP will back the deal for national interest and for its
commitment towards secularism, the UPA is sure to survive. The new
political alignment is on the cards and old one is crumbling down.
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on the other hand is asking the
government to prove its majority on the floor of the Parliament, which
is not a problem for the UPA.
