Law of land has failed to protect the poor
While crooks find way to political power
You and me can only suck our thumbs
As goons and rascals reach the top of tower

Leaders such as Gandhi, Nehru, Subhas and Patel
Already lost into pages of history
Treves, rapists, dacoits are all in the fray
While poor died in the gas at Bhopal factory

Some leaders hide their money in the bathrooms
Yet claim innocence about the source of money
Police are busy in eternal search for crooks
While old and sick suffer pain in the knee

Ethics and morals now belong to some other distant era
As leaders are busy in the game of politics
Cheating people is their prime past time
And people are fed up of the eternal antics

Shady characters start the professional colleges
With sole aim of making fast buck

Although Nehru was at the helm for very long
Failed to remove the evil of corruption
The crooked have now become very strong
And they have swindled public money with great dedication

Mundra affair was the scam in his time
When such men have brought the nation discredit
Krishnamachari had to lick lime then
And nothing much came out of the so called audit

None has been sent to the gallows
The affair was closed with one guy who left
All was healthy and found fine soon
While the scamsters continued to commit fraud and theft

Always the wicked crooks get away in India
While innocents become scapegoats
Public uproar in India has no say
And the crooked are found escaping from the steep moat

Some how I failed to guess Indian character
When freedom was gained from sacrifice
The constitution of India has no original chapter
