Terror cannot be fought through terror: VHP

Allahabad, June 23 (PTI) The VHP today sought to
distance itself from the Shiv Sena's "Hindu suicide squads" theory and
said "terror can never be fought through terror". "Anger cannot be
quelled through anger is a cherished Hindu belief and this also implies
that terror can never be fought through terror.

Hence, we do not
support the idea of Hindu suicide squads for combating Islamic
extremism," VHP chief Ashok Singhal told reporters at his residence
here. In a recent article published in its mouthpiece "Saamna", Shiv
Sena said there was a need for "Hindu suicide squads" to ensure
security for the community.

An NRI's Reflection on Sangh Parivar & Swayamsevaks

Originial Link: http://groups.google.com/group/soc.culture.indian.kerala/msg/a13b3818e94...

It is time to say goodbye.  I will head for India in two weeks after thirty years in the USA to work full time for SEVA programs of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in India.

On this Visitors' Feedback section, I had the honor of reading Partha Banerjee, who frequently attacks the whole Sangh Parivar with gusto, repeatedly claiming at the same time his past membership with RSS.  Perhaps he stresses his alleged RSS connection to prove his credibility.  Myself, on the other hand, have a completely different perspective on the Sangh.  I never belonged to the Sangh, and yet today I have taken an early retirement (voluntarily, on my own terms; can be checked relatively easily), and will plunge headlong into Sangh programs in India.

Rashtriya Sewa Bharati : Bringing about positive attitudinal change

It was election time. High pitch election fever was everywhere. Money was profusely distributed throughout that constituency. Election agents of a candidate belonging to a particular political party arrived at Mangaleshwari Nagar, a remote village in East Coast Road of Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu, with boxes of fresh currency notes of 500 and 1,000 denominations to distribute among people of this particular village. One currency note was available for each voter to get his support. But, to those agents’ surprise, the people of this village categorically refused to accept money from them.

“Let the Grama Sevika of Sewa Bharati come, you speak to her”, was the reply from the people of the village.

Temple razed: BJP, VHP activists block traffic for hours

TENSION CONTINUES to prevail in Haldwani's
Kamalua-ganja area a day after several angry workers of the ruling BJP,
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal blocked traffic for hours
and damaged shops on Friday to protest the demolition of a temple. The
police lathicharged the workers who were from various wings of the
saffron brigade after they indulged in heavy brick batting and damaging
shops in Kusumkhera area, said the SSP of Nainital District, G.S.
Martolia.

"The damaged shops belonged to traders belonging to
the minority community," Martolia told Hindustan Times. "The rioters
came on scooters and motorcycles and began throwing stones at the shops.

They were coming from Kamaluaganja after blocking traffic for hours
outside a factory premises," the SSP said. He said the rioters had
organised a sit-in on the Kaladhungi-Haldwani road outside the factory
in protest against the demolition of a temple.

Why Is Amritha TV ashamed to back VHP?

Many
bloggers and websites had earlier written on the obvious connection
between Amritha TV and the left groups considering the wide array of
leftist supporters they had running the channel. But the most sticking
evidence was given when the channel almost made the Late Swami
Satyananda Saraswati's Samadhi a simple scrolling line and decided to
telecast the Bishops funeral live. The channel was forced to apologize
for its criticism of P.Parameswarji, RSS ideologue, after viewers sent
countless e-mails and websites like Haindava Keralam issued open
criticisms.

Police attacked VHP activists who countered Yuvajanavedhi march to Amrithanandamayi Matt 17/06/2008 02:51:19 HK

Kozhikode: Once again the Double standards of Police was exposed when they gave full protection to CPI(ML)’s youth wing Yuvajana Vedhi’s  march to Amrithanandamayi Matt in Kozhikode.

Instead of dispersing the provocative march by Yuvajana Vedhi Police resorted to attack VHP activists who protected the Ashram.

Though
Home Ministry warned youth organisations not to conduct marches to
Spiritual places, Police seems to be giving full protection to those
who conduct marches.
