Lost Identity

Few days ago a news stormed cyber India, that 'US tagged Indian students with radio collar'. Here, I mentioned, Cyber India, because our 'Khadi' mafias & Media mafias, took this seriously, lot of discussion happened on the internet only. U.S., as usual ignored the issue with their rude & senseless comment that, 'wearing the anklet is a fashion'. Though, I've never seen them wearing one!

Today I've seen our Union Minister Kapil Sibal, condemned tagging of Indian Students. Our MEA S.M. Krishna, as well, roared against U.S. Who cares? Our ministers should actually care about themselves. Who knows when they will be stripped down at Kennedy International Airport & will have to undergo cavity check. Save your own asses guys, nobody takes you seriously. I am not exaggerating. US have actually done this before. Our Ex. Defense Minister had to undergo such humiliating strip search at US airport in 2004. If it seems too old story, you may consider the recent patting incidents at US airports. India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Hardeep Puri, was subjected to a pat down at Houston Airport, in December of last year. U.S. attained utmost level of humiliation of Indians, when India's sari-clad ambassador Meera Shankar, was pulled from an airport security line and patted down by a TSA agent in Mississippi after attending a conference. That was gross. If they are treating our politicians, ambassadors, & envoys this mean way, I can't imagine how they are treating common South Asians?

Government of India's insensitive response to humiliation is actually encouragement to the world to consider India as a spineless nation. These harassment are not the only concern. I feel too much embarrassed when I think of China. China keeps popping his sting every second day. Chinese army do its cross country training, actually crossing our country's border. They can paint Pro China graffiti, 3 miles deep the Indian territory. They can manipulate Indian map, and claim Aksai Chin, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh are part of their own territory. They can issue stapled visa to Kashmiris, & Arunachal Pradesh citizens. & we keep condemning every bullying by China.

Those were just beasts, eating out the globe bite after bite, by this or that means. They are on bullying spree. "We Indians have to tolerate them until we grow... Blah Blah.." is the explanation by our so called intellects. Usual. But why on the earth a tini-tiny nation called Shri Lanka dared to attack our fishermen, without any provocation or border abuse? Our FS Nirupama Rao had to travel to Lanka to convey our concerns. I don't understand why our so called intellects talk about this?

Considering all those incidences, many Indian thinks, Why cant we pat down American envoys? Why cant we manipulate Chinese map, & accept Tibet as an independent state? Why cant we issue staple visa to Taiwanese, & Tibetans? Why don't we build up infrastructure to check Chinese frequent incursions? Why the nations like Shri Lanka dares to challenge Indian Navy? Can't our foreign ministry summon their ambassador? Why our FS had to rush to Shri Lanka? Many questions are there. Its probable answer is our rotten foreign policies.

What is a 'nation'? A nation, for me, is not only a system to manage bunch of people and their living. Nation, for me, is an idea, which binds its citizen together, regardless of geography, religion, language etc. Nation collectively has its identity, its own pride, its own respect along with its might, economy etc. I think, India is growing economically only. We've lost our self respect, our pride, our integrity. Simply, we've Lost our Identity.
