Only Jain temple in Valley destroyed

Mumbai: Two years ago,a family from Mumbai built a temple in the lap of snow-capped mountains miles away in Srinagar.
The derasar (temple),carved out of teak,decked with marigolds and installed with three idols of Jain tirthankars,was set up for the thousands of Jains who streamed into the volatile region every holiday season.
But last Saturday,the only Jain temple in the Kashmir Valley was burnt down by a mob.

Sohrabbuddin was not an ordinary criminal as projected by the petitioner in the alleged encounter case. Sohrabuddin had spread his tentacles in four states viz. Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP and Maharashtra. He was working in tandem with mafia dons like late Abdul Latif and Daud Ibrahim. With the active support of Dawood Ibrahim, Rasul Parti, and Mammumiya Panjumia, he was continuously smuggling in dangerous weapons and other contraband from Pakistan.

Ahmedabad, Apr 24 (PTI) An organisation floated by eminent Muslims of Gujarat today denounced as "inflammatory and derogatory" the recent statement made by a delegation of MPs from that country about alleged persecution of Muslims in the state. "Their remarks that Muslims in the state are persecuted will widen the split between religious communities in the state," Jafar Sareshwala, CMD of Parsoli Corporation Ltd, who along with some others, has formed The United Force for Peace and Harmony, told reporters here.

PREFACE

My article, ‘Sangh, Manu & I’ was published in the Diwali number of Vivek in 1994. Readers liked the article. Many of them met me personally to convey their appreciation and others did so by writing letters. The Bouddhik Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Hariji (Shri Ranga Hari) met me in the Dadar office. Hariji is from Kerala. Still he went through my Marathi article. He said, “I read your article. I liked it very much. Such articles will go a long way in raising people’s confidence in our work.” His comments made me happy.
