When the first arab armies conquered parts of Sindh in 712AD, the hindus were completely aghast to see their women and children being carried off as slaves, to be sold in the slave markets of arabia. Hinduism is the only major religion of the world to never had have any notion of slavery, and one can imagine the shock of the hindus when they saw their women being enslaved. Arab historians of the time wrote with glee that "the fair women of Hind are now sleeping in our harems". This is well known. What is not well known among hindus even today (ie 1300 years after the first shock of Islam) is that this is actually a central canon of Islamic law: As per Islamic law, when an enemy is defeated, the women and children are MEANT TO BE enslaved (in other words, it is not an option, it is an order). The women become the the sexual property of their muslim owners. There are literally over 50 hadith that describe this. I will only provide 4 examples below: Abu Dawud vol.2 no.2150 p.577
[Note: It seems that the muslim soldiers were reluctant to rape the women prisoners in front of their husbands. But Mohammed had no such compunction. He said Allah has made it completely lawful to have sex with captives as long as they are not in their menstrual period!] Abu Dawud vol.2 footnote 1479 p.577-578.
[Note: A man who buys a married couple, can just null that marriage, and take the woman as his own sex-slave!] Abu Dawud vol.2 no.2153-2154 p.578
[Note: In other words, there is NO restriction on a muslim to have sex with a captured woman other than that he has to wait if she is menstruating.]
Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 459:
[Note: The muslims were raping the women using coitus interruptus, to avoid impregnating them. This is because impregnated women fetch less money when sold in the slave market. Mohammed said, "just rape them the normal way, don't bother to do coitus interruptus because if a child is destined to be born, he will" !!]
Here is some perspective - the worst man in the hindu epics - Ravan, was still so decent he did not force himself upon Sita. He repeatedly asked her to marry him, giving her the final say on the matter. And the model person to fundamentalist muslims is a man who freely ordered his soldiers to rape women captives in front of their husbands! A man who himself raped women captives (Safiyah, for instance) the day he himself had murdered her husband and father in war! Bookmark/Search this post with:

Yes Prajyot, indeed it is. Especially for hindus, whose dharma was totally different. Consider this: Megasthenes, when he visited India, reported that he had seen armies fight each other, but never harm a civilian even if he was just a few meters away. He reported that often farmers would till their land without even bothering about armies fighting just some distance away, because civilians were never harmed during war. That was the hindu way of war (ie, dharma yuddha). Islam is just the opposite. It's primary purpose for waging war is (a) to spread Islam and (b) to capture war booty, most notably women and slaves. In fact, the capture of women as war booty was a primary method of motivating people to wage war.
So it is a totally opposite way of thinking. It is important to know this. The early hindus did not know this, and that is why they treated the Ghoris and Ghaznis as just any other hindu raja. They paid a heavy price for their ignorance of Islamic war and its methods/motivations.
Most of my friends are still muslims (many religious ones). They are decent people, and I love them. But we must realize that they are decent *inspite* of what is written in Koran and Hadith, and in that sense they really are exceptional people. In a way, they are the biggest victims of Islam - decent people trapped into a faith which teaches that one should capture women and rape them in front of their husbands as the above Hadiths show.
There are Hadiths where Mohammed specifically says "kill women and children of the polytheists during raids - don't worry, kill them all." That explains why muslim raiders into India would show no mercy even to children. The Kuran and Hadith are directly responsible for our suffering. For instance, when Mohammed Bin Qasim captured Brahmanabad in Sindh, he killed about 35,000 inhabitants on the orders of the Caliph who reminded him that the Hadith orders him to do so!
So to understand Islam and its behaviour, we must read the Kuran and the Hadith. Then all becomes clear.
I want to request hindus not to hate muslims for this - they are victims of Islam more than anyone else. If more of them would read what is in the Hadith, they would leave Islam.
