ETERNAL SHAME PART II

Law of land has failed to protect the poor
While crooks find way to political power
You and me can only suck our thumbs
As goons and rascals reach the top of tower

Leaders such as Gandhi, Nehru, Subhas and Patel
Already lost into pages of history
Treves, rapists, dacoits are all in the fray
While poor died in the gas at Bhopal factory

Some leaders hide their money in the bathrooms
Yet claim innocence about the source of money
Police are busy in eternal search for crooks
While old and sick suffer pain in the knee

Ethics and morals now belong to some other distant era
As leaders are busy in the game of politics
Cheating people is their prime past time
And people are fed up of the eternal antics

Shady characters start the professional colleges
With sole aim of making fast buck
However outside they pose as the noblest men
As gullible students and staff are bowled for a duck

Sixty long years of freedom has withered away
While we were cheated by the leaders to the hilt
Indians have failed to realize the folly of our election stunt
While the law has failed miserably to punish those with guilt

Poor peers brought us freedom long ago
Failed to foresee the perils in corrupt state
Leaders remember Gandhi to catch votes
And loot the nation and leave us to our fate

Leaders hold on to seats without ay shame
Even when courts charge them for swindling
Crooks and scamsters stick around these men
While morals in India have been rapidly dwindling

Merit in India is already down the drain
As third rate stuff reach to the top
The English men have happily dumped us
While cheats enjoy eminence without a full stop

The Constitution of the nation is turned into a scrap book
With every leader trying to bring in a change
Those on top have no fore thought
As soldiers practice killing at a firing range
