The Capital of Sindh was Brahamand.
ie...Brahamand that is the universe.It has a Sun Temple. It had 11000 Brahmin preists.
The Vedas (Rigveda) praises the Sindhu, the cradle of Indian civilization. ``Sindhu in might surpasses all the streams that flow.... His roar is lifted up to heaven above the earth; he puts forth endless vigour with a flash of light .... Even as cows with milk rush to their calves, so other rivers roar into the Sindhu. As a warrior- king leads other warriors, so does Sindhu lead other rivers.... Rich in good steeds is Sindhu, rich in gold, nobly fashioned, rich in ample wealth. In this hymn Sindhu, different from other rivers, is masculine.
Other references are, when the Vedic seer invokes heaven and earth, he also invokes the Sindhu. The Veda refers to the Ganga only twice; but it makes as many as thirty references to the Sindhu. This is the Great Sindhu that gave Sindh --- and Hind! --- its name.
Iranian and Persian speech replaced 'S' with 'H' resulting in 'Sindhu' being pronounced and written as 'Hindu' In Ramayana Sindh was part of Dasaratha's empire. When Kekayi goes into a sulk, Dasaratha tells her: ``The sun does not set on my empire. Sindh, Sauvira, Saurashtra, Anga, Vanga, Magadha, Kashi, Koshal --- they are all mine. They produce an infinite variety of valuable articles. You can ask whatever you like. When Sita was kidnapped by Ravana, Rama sent the vanaras(monkeys) to look for her, among other places, in Sindh with its ``remarkable swimming horses. Later, when all ended well, Rama gave Sindhu-Sauvira (the Sindh and Multan areas) to Bharata, who duly extended his rule farther north to Gandhara --- the home town of Gandhari of Mahabharata fame --- now Kandhar. His sons founded the cities of Peshawar (Pushkalavati) and Taxila (Takshasila). . Places in Sindh: Amri:a fortified city which was burnt down. Alor (Aror)-was known as the greatest city in Sindh and was it’s capital. It is 8 Kms east of Rohri. Is the original homeland of the Arora Community of Punjab, it was the anciept capital of Sindh. In the year 962 A.D it was hit by a massive earthquake that changed the course of the Indus river.It was home to Kalka Devi Mandir which was burnt in 1992 by Muslim fanatics. Bhambore : are the ruins of an ancient port city of Debal. The ruins are between 60 Kms wide between Dhabjee and Gharo.Bhambore was latter abandoned due to change in course of the river. Chak:Is the word derived from the Sindhi word “Chakki” many potters used to live here. Dadu district : Formed in 1901. Daharki: Dokri: was once called Lab-e- Darya or the lip of indus . Karachi: The city was started as a fishing settlement by a Sindhi fisherwoamn called Mai Kolachi and than it became a villate called Kolachi- jo Goth. Gujjo.:Ghotki: Goth Dulla Lakhan (Sukkur District).Hala: Hyderabad:Earlier called Neroon Kot. It was the former capital of Sindh. It is known as the city of perfumes. It was known as Paris of India – before partition,as the roads used to be washed with perfumes everyday.There is a fort there called Pacco Qillo. Jamshoro( Jamshoro District ): Kachi Pul:small town Kadanwari ( Tharparkar District ): Kandhkot (Kashmore District): Anaj Mandi is the second largest market of Asia. Kandiaro: small town in southern province of Sind. Kashmore (Kashmore District) – City. Keti: is a port town in Karachi district. Keti Bandhar ( Thatta District): was one of the richest ports of the reigion.Most inhabitans believe that it is actually the port of debal. Khairpur: 12th largest city in province of Sindh. Capital of Khairpur District. It is a city famous for its Dates. It was a very industrially advanced city. It has the largest factories in textiles, tabacco, redrying and silk weaving. Khipro small town in Sanghar District.Khokhrapur:last railway station on way to India. Kot Diji: This was a fortified town which was burnt down. Larkana or Larkano district:Larkana was called the Eden of Sindh. There is a famous variety of rise called Sugdasi. Machur:a well developed village. Raharki: very important town in Sindh province. Mahi wah River flows thru the center. Pooj Shree Raharki Saahib is well known throughout the world becaue the great Santram Das was born in this village. Many pilgrims from all over the world come to see the Devri ( shrine) of the great Saint. Rehri/Rohri: (Sukkur District) located on east bank of Indus river. Sehwan(Sivistan ) important center of Shiva Cult.One of the most ancient towns of Indus Valley.At the time of Mahabarrata many Brahamans settled in this valley and founded many towns on the bank of Indus River.Sehwan was called (Sevestan) by Alexander the Great. This town was ruled by Raja Mati, Latter by Raja Chach and followed by Raja Dahar. Shikarpur district: Shikarpur had always been an important trade route thru the Bolan Pass. It has seven gates like Hathi gate, Lukhi gate etc.. It is famous for its pickles and sweets. Shikarpur used to be called “Old Paris” Sukkur district : Also known as Dharya Dhino ( or River given).It was a important and stratergic center and trading route from time immemorial.Thatto: Formerly capital of lower Sindh.
