"Akhanda Bharat," an imagination which could lead to a nightmare II

One has to realistically consider the formation of land masses, the evolution of life, evolution of Homo sapiens, costal migration etc which are scientifically established theories and integrate them before making such political wish list, which could disintegrate the “Hindu unity” and threaten the very existence of Hindu population and their beliefs. In other words, adding Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tibet, Myanmar and Sri Lank and the present day India is like adding numerous online purchases into a wish list of and then logging off the site. It is very simple and harmless if it is a part of a silly dream of a religious priest who has hardly learned anything else, except to recite certain mantras without taking time to understand their meaning. However, when the highest ranking leader of RSS makes that kind of ill thought and harmful statement, right thinking people whose interest is interlinked have a right to consider that it forms part of the policy of the Hindu nation. I don’t see anything wrong in that kind of an attitude on their part. That is what worries me. Therefore, I wish to make an analysis of that statement from various perspectives.

Mythologically

Going back to the time when “Om” was first chanted, we have heard creation being divided into Swarg, Prithvi and Paathal. Swarg and Paathal are not for the “Manav” to ponder about. Brahma created Manu and entrusted him with the responsibility of ruling “Prithvi.” Are we to take that “Akhanda Bharat” was the entire Prithvi? Or was “Manu’s” world confined to “Akhanda Bharat,” which included those countries mentioned? We have heard the story of “Dhruv” and “King Uttanapad.” Thereafter, there was no mention of the exact geographic location of that sovereignty. Was that in “Satya Yuga?” Then we heard aboutt various kingdoms like Ayodhya, Mithila, Kishkindha, Lanka, and so many other kingdoms. Lord Sri Ram lived in “Thretha Yuga” at which time there were numerous kingdoms within the Indian subcontinent. Remember those scenes in “Seetha Swayamvar” Kings and princes from many nations participated in it. Then we heard the story of “Dushyant” and his son “Bharata” and the dynasty he established, the “Kuru dynasty.” Lord Krishna lived in “Dwaapara Yuga,” during which the war of Mahabharata was fought. In the first chapter of Bhagavad Gita, there is a mention of the names of the kings and princes participating in the war. So there were numerous kingdoms, like Kambhoja, Gandhara, Sindh, and you name the rest. There was no mention of Tibet, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, etc. or names identifying those countries. So there was no politically unified sovereign “Akhanda Bharat” in the times of Mythology. Of course, Hindu “dharma,” culture and way of life was common.
