Nitin Gadkari Many are surprised by the “lack of wisdom” of the BJP in choosing its next President. Many have blamed Raj Nath Singh for the failure of BJP in the last parliamentary elections. Both groups are wrong. Indian electorate has limited understanding of the history of India, and its political and socio economic realities. Poor judgment by national leaders in trusting Nehru’s personal integrity and his commitment to the Indian democracy is the first reason for this tragedy. We cannot ignore the fact that Nehru systematically made it a priority to control, guide and direct Indian National Congress and the nation into making it an empire for his descendents. His daughter and grandson did nothing better to change the situation. On top of it are the sycophants whose absolute subservience to the leadership which made the Congress Party anti people. Congress leaders systematically promoted anti Hindu policies to monopolize the support of the Christian and Muslim vote banks. Hindus who care little for prosperity as a unified group succumbed to the Congress propaganda war in the name of secularism. In that background, only RSS and its leaders remained steadfastly loyal to the Hindu cause. Jan Sangh and BJP were the political windows of RSS. People who say that BJP should severe its connections with RSS have no understanding of India’s political set up. RSS withstood the onslaught of successive Congress governments. My feeling is that it needs to be a little more aggressive. It has correctly chosen Gatkari to lead BJP. Political leaders, including BJP leaders shift loyalties when it suits them. However, RSS leaders stood for the Hindu cause. Hindu cause should not be wrongly interpreted as upper caste politics. As I understand the objective of RSS is to protect native religious and socio political philosophies while promoting economic development. Nitin Gadkari has proven competencies as an exemplary student, as student leader, as a political leader, as a Minister and as a businessman. From my reading of his resume, I see him disciplined and honest. I watched his interview in the YouTube. He creates a fine impression. He talks facts and figures and every point he makes is supported by his vision. These qualities are rare in Indian politics. Therefore, I believe that he will do well as the new BJP President. I recommend the University where he did his Master’s degree to award him a Doctorate, which he well deserves I wish him healthy and long life so that he can provide the much needed leadership to the nation. I wish to recommend to him to identify leaders like him in various age groups to take over leadership positions in the next four decades and groom them, inculcating our value systems, training in modern political administration and making them aware of our tragic history in the past 1000 years, current and emerging issues and where we want to take our nation to. ---------------- Note: Content of this blog post is writer's personal opinion and may not be SanghParivar.org or Sangh's view.
