Evil intention of foreign funded Organisations and Church
establishments to get more funds is the main cause of disturbance in Kandhamal (Orissa)
A four-member delegation representing the Kandhmal (Orissa) tribals and other Hindus affected by the recent murderous Christian attacks met Her Excellency the President of India today and submitted a Memorandum that demanded that -
1. Government of India should check foreign funding to the NGOs and Church establishments and frame laws to scrutinize the activities of these organizations;
2. To protect all the rights and facilities provided to the SCs
(Scheduled Castes) and STs (Scheduled Tribes) and to prevent others (non-SCs & non-STs including convertees) from taking away those facilities by fraud;
3. Duly check and audit their such income and expenditure profiles and seize and confiscate their accounts wherever those may be in existence;
4. 'Propagation of Religion' does not mean the 'right to convert'.
Therefore, all conversion activities, that undermine the holistic indigenous culture and religious traditions and work against the unity of the people by breeding disaffection amongst them and threaten the integrity of the country, must be banned;
5. To arrest, prosecute and punish those offenders and their
accomplices who murdered an innocent person and made an attempt on the life of HH Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati and torched the houses of Hindus.
6. Let a Central Law be made to prohibit conversions by force,
allurement and fraudulent means presently going on in Bharat.
7. Restrain those that converted to Christianity from being declared as ST.
Addressing a Press Conference, they said: "...The incidents that happened in Kandhamal district of Orissa were unfortunate. We are very much worried about the life and property of the minority Hindu community of Daringbadi block of Kandhamal district who were very much
affected by the recent violence.
The most dangerous facts which comes out of the analysis of the incidents happened during this period indicates the aggressive attitude and evil design of the converted Pano Christans motivated by Church and other Christian Organisation like YMCA, World Vision, Phulbani, Jan Kalyan Sabha etc. You can better understand from the
following instances:
1. Brahmanigaon :
Conflict started at Brahmanigaon on 20th December 2007 as the Church people with the local Christians constructed a huge gate covering the main road and a portion of the Durga Puja Mandap. When prevented by the local public on 23rd Christians started beating and even dishonor the peace meeting of the administration.
2. Attack on Swami Laxmananda Saraswatiji Maharaj:
Fatal attack on Swami Laxmananda Saraswatiji, his driver, security and his associates obstructing his vehicle on way to Bramhanigaon at Darsingbadi by a group of armed Christians on 24th December 2007 Barakhama killing of Khageswar Mallick Christian women petted stones at the Hindus returning from a procession when an old tribal Khageswar Mallick fell down, he was brutally stoned to death on 24th evening.
When Bhikari Sethi a Vendor of Birikot village of Gajapati district was alone near Bramhanigon some Christians burnt him with kerosene. He is saved by the Police and other Hindu villagers and now undergoing treatment at M KC G Medical College hospital.
On 27th nearly 3000 Christians of nearby villages of Ganjam, Gajapati with the local Christians attacked the Bramhanigaon villagers with arms and ammunitions and also with the help of naxales. When the villagers fled away and surrendered at the police station, the Christians torched the whole village and attacked the police station.
Exchange of fire continued for more than four hours. One police and the Gajapati S.P. who were there at that time were injured. One Christian was killed by the police firing.
A young Christian who was seriously injured in the fighting later found hiding in the Christian Sahi confessed the plan and program of the attackers before the S.P. which has been recorded.
The most important factor which has made the Kondh tribal most disturbed is the illegal demand of S.T. status to some converted Pano Christians who are deprived of S.C facilities due to their conversion by a planned conspiracy. Radhakant Nayak an Retd I A S now M.P Rajya Sabha, who is a converted Christian got SC facility stating himself as
Hindu is charged as the main conspirator by the Kandha community.
A large number of Christians who are converted are getting SC facilities by false Caste certificates and some of them even got S.T. certificates and serving in various Government departments like Radhakant Nayank, John Nayak IPS retd, Isac Behera IAS retd and several others. A list of 130 such names has been submitted by Kandh organization to the State Government.
Christians have forcibly and illegally constructed houses, Churches and other Christian establishments on lands of tribals which they could not get back after Court order causing resentment amongst the tribal like Barakhama and Sukhananda and many other places (published in Samaj Oriya Daily dated 4-1-08) Houses, shops and vehicles of Hindus are looted and burnt in many villages where Hindus are in minority.
During the whole incidents not a single Christian was attacked. Nearly 25 Hindus were injured by Christians at different places. Large quantity of Arms were seized from the Houses of Christians at Bramhanigaon.
Christians have beaten and threatened to kill in many villages where Hindus are in minority like Gadapur, Katingia, Tiarigaon etc which compelled the villagers to flee to the jungle or to a safer place. 95 families comprising 430 persons in Katingia and Tiarigaon of Bramahnigaon P.S are fled away to Merikot of Ganjam and several others are in the jungles.
Knowing that Government will provide them with Indira Awas Christians themselves burnt the houses. Similarly church institutions torched their so-called Jhopadi churches to get foreign aid and leveled blame on nearby Hindu community. Several such instances were reported false by courts in the previous years. Now it has been also supported by the
Statement of D.G. Police (Published in the Indian Express on 5-1-2008)
All India Christian Forum leader John Dayal has admitted that
Christians have attacked Bramahanigaon village and involved in the violence.
From the above facts one can easily understand the poor innocent Christians of such remote areas could not have done such things in a planned way without the support of any big foreign funding organization. There is hidden hand of world vision, YMCA, NISWASS etc and Church organization behind such incidents.
The evil intention of these foreign funded organization and
Institutions are to create social disharmony and conflict by which they will get more foreign fund and tarnish the image of the Nation.
Therefore we demand:

Do you really believe that killing christians is right or good?
I am a U.S citizen, and have been reading up on this situation. I have learned more about Hindu religion because of it. This is really a sad thing happening.
I have to say though,... you will find it impossible to get rid of christianity. Christianity is not a threat to your nation. I suggest you really, really search your heart about what you are doing or supporting. Or at least request that your Creator show you. He will show you, if you seek Him.
Our Creator is the Judge.

Do you think we have the right to kill innocent christians in the name of retaliation. Just because of our retaliation we have created a big drift in between hindus & christians. Unlike muslims they were never involved in terrorism or any unlawfull activities. If we suspect their hand in killing of swamiji we should have conducted peacefull demostrations against them. Personally I feel christians are peace loving people and 30000 christians educational institutions and hospitals are definitly helping India to make it further strong. Myself i have educated in a chrstian institution( Mangalore), I have never gone through about any kind of religious preachings on that period. And further more unlike Islam Christianity is a broad minded democratic religion with equal rights to women. If we can't improve the living standards of the downtrodden tribal people then we don't have any right to stop them from converting to christianity. If down trodden people going to get good education, social life by accepting christianity then its good for India. Anyway I believe in God is one & religions are nothing but lifestyles.

It is nice to see the mail of Mr. Ramanathan Iyer. Hats off to you sir.
It is an established fact in front of the world audience that India is one of the best countries with a huge pool of human resources. I hear from so many of my friends who have studied abroad that an average Indian is far better intellectually than any above average westerner. To add to this we know very well that people who are in high ranks, are from poor backgrounds and from Villages. To say that poor Indians are bought with the money of the missionaries, is to say that we Indian, especially the poor ones have no brains to think or to say that we just like cows and sheep, which can be led to any place as we like. Don't insult the poor Indians. We cannot be just bought. We have our heads over our shoulders.
Even for arguments sake, if the christians were buying the poor Indians into being christians, by now the percentage of christians should be up. But the official census says that the percentage of christians has gone down. How could you say that forced conversions are going on?
Ok, let us take it for granted that poor Indians are caught with money; after they get enough money and education, they could very well return back to their original faith(hinduism). This will frustrate the christian missionaries. So many of our leaders including L.K. Advani, has studied in christian institution, but he has not converted.
First let us see our back; even in Orissa, dalit hindus are not allowed into certain temples (like Lord Jaganath Temple), even after the court's order. Later, when the hindu dalits entered the temple with Police protection, the temple priest and other promient higher caste hindus have performed purification ceremoney. So, those dalit hindus should continue to be hindus, with all these humilations? In stead of seeing the speck in someone's eye, let us remove the log from ours. Tell me which VHP or BJP leader has condemned these temple priests and other high caste hindus? Have they supported these dalit hindus?
The Christian missionaries are found in every remote corners of this country trying to do some good may be with a false motive; but our hindu intellectuals with all their learning and wealth, what have they done? If every hindu family helps another poor hindu family, then, who will turn towards the missionaries? In stead of blaming the christians let us do some thing positive in action.
I shall give a warning: Go through the history, it is during the difficult times that Christianity has grown, in fact, during the peaceful times, it has declained or has suffered divisions within. See the west, you have enough and more examples.(Most of the churches are empty or only with few old people). Let history not repeat itself in our land.
I read the release by Gauri Prasad Rath, General Secretary VHP-Orissa & Dr Laxmi Kant Dash, General Secretary, Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram-Orissa from Delhi Camp. I would be happy also to know what the VHP and their followers have done to the Christians? Then it will be a blanced reporting. If the christians are misusing the SC/ST status, then let the competent authorities take action. Destroying their homes and places of worship and killing them cannot be justified under any circumstances. Who are we to take the law into our hands? I am ashamed of being a hindu. Let us ask forgiveness from them.

As a Hindu I really feel ashamed of some of our half wit bretheren like Chandrakant and idiot anonymous above who freely admit that Christians are better educated and "more intelligent" than hindus. I would like to detach the rest of us hindus from this statement. We admit no such thing. I can only pity these guys since they are the type of audience that is so easily influenced and misled by our cynical leaders. They are not after all able to reason or think for themselves - their tiny brains can only concentrate long enough if they have something or someone to hate!! Anyone with at least an ounce of brain knows that India is an overwhelmingly hindu country. Always has been and always will. I am confident enough in my great Hindu religeon to know that this fact can never change even if the alarming falsehoods spread by the fundamentalist hindu parties were true (which they most definitely aren't). So even if there really were large scale forced christian conversions, and the muslims breed like rabbits. The numbers just don't add up - do some research and maths guys and you will see.
The real facts are offcourse very different from what the fundamentalists project to mislead the gulible public. There may be few "economically induced" conversions. But these are really a very small and insignificant percentage when you have a Billion strong population! So small that they will have no effect on the overall demographics even in hundreds of years! In fact there is also reverse conversions from christianity to hinduism which is rarely highlighted nor protested against. So what if a few dirt poor people who have been forsaken by their own kind are rescued from starvation by professing a different faith? I for one am not so duplicitous as to pass judgement on my starving countrymen and cast aside their basic needs like food, education and healthcare (which they may receive from missionaries), and rather insist that they maintain their professed religious identity at any cost. Who am I to decide on their behalf when my own family is well fed and comfortable?
This whole problem and misinterpretation ultimately, is caused not by the truelly faithful (off all religeons). It is caused by bad policies including reservation which have kept our country underdeveloped (Congress, Left parties etc)and unscrupulous deceptive devisive narrow minded politicians (BJP, VHP etc). I am proud of being a Hindu and an Indian. I am proud and glad to live in a country with so many religious identities. If I am a so called "suedo secularist" - then I am most proud. I know that I at least have done some good deeds for my fellow man and for my country, and not squandered the precious time on this earth spreading hatred and malice.

I am an Indian and very proudly a Christian.I agree with u on one point very reasonably.The starved man knows no religion.Starvation of body is as bad as starvation of soul.When the average Indian is content with life and happy with the religion he is born into.The poor,the sick,the oppressed and the affluent are hungry for physical,emotional and social comfort.
The challenge before humanity is to bridge that gap.While our children today have no personalities to aspire to they imitate Osama,Bal Thackeray or any such person who is convincing to their logic.Some suicide,other murder and yet others turn to drugs.The entire discussion becomes lopsided when Hindus fail to see attack on women and unarmed as ADHARMA-there is no Dharma in killing the innocent and defenceless.The Bhagwat Gita doesnt teach u to defend gods.Because gods defend themselves.But Dharma is to fend and provide for the defenceless.I challenge my Hindu coutrymen if u believe in Hinduism..imitate krishna in his love to Sudhama,imitate Ram in his uprightness.
Pls type persecution of Christians in google..India is just another State that fears Christian love and care..neither conversions nor christianity has stopped from the time of Christ.So this is a losing battle.

It is very disheartening to see that some of you are so biased in your attitudes about we Christians.yet it is not at all surprising to witnness your hostility towards us since we know that "christians being hated" is not new thing. History is witness to this phenomenon all through the ages. Lord Jesus, when He was hanging on the cross said a prayer that His oppressor may be forgiven. Every true christian will echo the same sentence for those who misunderstand and mis interprete our faith and values.
Yes, I strongly condemn those who retaliate with violence against violence, because violence was not the principle of Lord Jesus Christ nor it should be of His followers. Those who react - eye for an eys will gain nothing. we need to also remember that those who live with the sword will die by the sword. God forgive them.
Here, I want to take the oppertunity to clarify a little about the hot topic "Conversion". Lord Jesus' mission to this world was not to convert the mankind to christianity. He was least interested to create a new religion with new gurus and separate caste and creed. Neither are we, who are born and brought up in India are interested to conquer any body. we are just trying to obey Jesus' comands and live a redeemed life.
Lord Jesus Christ gave His life to save people from sin and His sacrifice on the cross is the only way to gain ultimate freedom from Maya. This is the only message He wanted to reach every people of this World. Jesus Christ did not and so do we, do not believe in terrorising people or forcing people to change their caste or religion.
By becoming a Chrisitian a person does not gain any new job, or money. Following Christ and obeying His Truths has eternal benifts which the worldly cannot comprehend. but why should anyone just want to change religion for a few hundreds or thousands? Isn't that stupid? And I know that my country India had people who are able to think and reason.
So before accusing any one think and reason out. If you have doubts, read the Bible. Does it any where mention about forcing people to convert from their religion? Jesus Christ is such a figure in history that inspite of so many controversies and persecutions,He still remains. And so His true followers will gain nothing by force or money
No matter, what you speak or spread against us, it is our prayer that Jesus' Love will touch your life as it has touched mine. Your eyes will be opened to see the Truth about Christ and His true followers. You will know that killing people and hating others, conspiring and scheeming does not bring peace but chaos in the lives of people and country at large. So lets not fight or create division. By birth I am an Indian and I am glad that I am a Indian Christian too. India is mine as much as it is yours. May God's peace rest with you.
