PALAKKAD: In a dastardly act, a BCom student of the V V College, Chullimada, Anjusha, 18, daughter of Chandran of Kanakampara, was brutally murdered while she was returning from college after alighting the bus at Kanakampara near here on Tuesday.

A youth, Shajahan, 24, came in a motorbike and stabbed her while she was returning home after getting down from the bus on the Kanakampara -Themparamada road on Tuesday evening, said the police. The youth used to constantly call the girl on her mobile. This was objected to by the girl.

The locals and the relatives of the girl had also warned the youth against this.
Shajahan, son of Abdul Azeez of Themparamada, was a tipper lorry driver in Kochi. The youth has been taken into custody by the Chittur police but he could not be questioned since he had reportedly consumed poison and was admitted to the taluk hospital in Chittur. The reason for the murder would only be known after he is discharged from the hospital, said the police.
