Though the name has been changed to 'Commonwealth' from British
Commonwealth now, it remains the same with British Crown as permanent
head. It may not give us any direct material benefits but honour and
prestige which could not be bartered for any small gains! Remember the
bird in the Golden Cage!

 

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) for an integrated Indian Defence
Force capable of co-ordinating modern warfare is utmost needed. From
Kargil war experience we saw how our Army men were killed when Air
Force could have done the job alone by ariel bombardment. Inteligence
also needs improvement by bringing RAW under Indian Defence and merging
all Military Intelligences (of Army, Navy, etc) within it.

 

Indian Armed Forces have been suffering from old problems for long
which need to be rectified soon. They be reorganised into
Alpha-Numerically styled Units (Regiments, etc) unlike current
divisions based on caste, religion and regional basis like Sikh
Regiment, Jat Regiment, Gurkha Regiment (Foreign instead of which many
Indian youths could get jobs), Madras Regiment, Assam Rifles, Rajputana
Rifles, etc which stop it from being a true nationalist force. Or else
better they be named after Indian war heroes like Rana Pratap, Shivaji,
Netaji, Guru Govind Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad, etc. Remember during
Khalistani Movement many Sikh Regiment units revolted!

 

Remember, India achieved only Dominion Status in 1947 and true
freedom in 1950. In 26th January, 1930 Congress has passed resolution
for complete independence but was content with Dominion Status through
'Transfer of Power' in 15th August, 1947. But, later to honour the 26th
January day on which every year from 1930 to 1947 Independence Day was
celebrated by Indians to keep alive the torch of freedom. I wish we
celebrate both Independence Day & Republic day on 26th Januray and
Dominion Status Day on 15th August as it truly is.

 

But, the sabotage by Congress and the then Indian Army who
remained loyal to British and drove out Netaji Subhas and his INA from
Manipur & Nagaland was still led by British officers in middle and
top ranks. Thus, in 1947-48 Kashmir War, they refused to fight their
fellow countrymen in Pakistani Army carved out of the undivided British
Indian Army!

 

Nehru was forced by Lord Mountbattein, the CEO of Dominion of
India with Head of State the British Crown to go to UN and ceasefire at
Kashmir. The immediate cause was frantic appeal by British soldiers of
Gilgit Scouts encircled by Indian and Pakistani Army at combat zone in
Kashmir.

 

Currently, India must forget partition and make LOC & LAC the
International Boundaries with Pakistan and China respectively. China in
exchange must be forced to accept Arunachal Pradesh as an Indian state.

 

With Islamic Bangladesh, India must exchange enclaves in each
other's territories according to Indira-Mujib Pact. Further, the
Indo-Bangladesh border must have Israel type wall fencing instead of
vulnerable wire fencing!
