Silent Hindu, angry Hindu-By Ashok Chowgule

A Hindu finds it very uncomfortable to talk bad about others. And this characteristic is often treated as a sign of weakness by his opponents, and serious attempts are made to bully him into submission. A Hindu tolerates it all -- but only up to a certain point. When he reacts, he reacts ferociously.

Forces which have been working to destroy Hindu civilisation have had success almost in all their other encounters. Even though Hindu civilisation has retreated from some areas, the Hindu has still kept alive the ethos in a large area. It is today the oldest surviving civilisation.

Despite its proven record of resilience, the attacks on Hindu civilisation have not ceased. The expectation of the enemy is that the resistance may snap, and then victory will be theirs. It is the duty of every Hindu to be eternally vigilant and not let down their ancestors who so valiantly fought to keep the ethos alive.

The issues surrounding the provision of facilities for pilgrims to the Amarnath shrine have to be viewed in this context to make sense of those opposing the leasing of 97 acres of land to the Sri Amarnath Shrine Board. The Hindu is reacting not just to the injustice that is being done in this case, but the injustices that he has been suffering for a long time.

In an article in Arab News, MJ Akbar has succinctly stated the Hindu case. He writes: "The Hindu who has quietly watched mosque and dargah expand around him, explodes when a few acres are denied to pilgrims on the arduous trek to Amarnath. He has seen Haj houses sprout around him for Muslims on their way to Mecca. These Haj houses are not loaned to the community for the two months involved in the two-way journey for Haj; they have become community centres all year round. He asks a question: Why should he be denied a place for tired feet on the way to Amarnath?"

This denial is supported by those who are considered to be moderate Muslims, as well as those who carry the label of secularism proudly on their sleeves. Mr Omar Abdullah announced in the Lok Sabha that Kashmiri Muslims "will give their lives but won't part with the land". If that be the case, does he have any moral right to own land outside the Kashmir Valley? The 'secularists' are blaming the previous Governor for implementing the orders of the various courts to provide proper facilities for pilgrims.

The 'secularists' have also made serious attempts to obfuscate the real issue. They have implicitly given credence to the ridiculous argument by the separatists that the granting of the land would alter the demographic composition of the Kashmir Valley. They want people to forget that the damage was done in the 1990s when Kashmiri Hindus were ethnically cleansed from the Valley by the very forces which are today opposing the leasing of land.

This is not the first time Hindu angst has expressed itself. Famously the Ram Janmabhoomi movement is the beginning of it in modern times -- a movement which VS Naipaul described as one which started from the bottom. The attempt by the UPA Government to belittle, through an affidavit in the Supreme Court, the memory of Sri Ram, the maryada purushottam (the ideal person), was met with widespread resistance on the streets.

On the one hand, Hindus are faced with the threat of Islamist terrorism, and on the other, the are confronted by an indifferent system. Decisions relating to the interest of the nation are taken on the basis of vote-bank politics, and this programme is authenticated by pseudo-secular intellectuals. Thus, it is alleged by the latter that the Jammu intifada has made Islamist terrorists and separatists in the Kashmir Valley stronger. The support to them by parties like the PDP is completely ignored. And there is no mention that it is to appease them that the lease of land to the SASB was cancelled.

'Secular' political parties take Hindus for granted. As in the past, this time too Hindu anger was underestimated by the Government which did not anticipate a reaction. Pseudo-secular intellectuals, rather than place the facts in the proper perspective, have only ended up communalising the entire issue.

Islamic terrorism is nothing new. It is as old as Islam. Jihadi terrorism means to frighten or to scare kafirs. Islamic terrorism has entailed a mass psychological aspect from the very inception of Islam. Pedophile MohaMad was the first one to use large scale terrorism during his Islamic invasion of Arabia. Terrorism has mushroomed in scope and intensity during Islamic invasion of Egypt, Persia and India. From the beginning Jihadis have targeted non Muslims for attack and murder. Jihadis have directed Islamic terrorism against Hindus, Jews, Buddhists and Sikhs. Jihadi terrorism amplifies Islamic deviance and its hostile ideology. Now Jihadis have hired bogus intellectuals, phony politicians and corrupt judicial administrators to endorse Jihadi terrorism. Jihadi terrorists in India have been bribing politicians, bureaucrats and judicial officials for exerting a mass psychological impact and to intimidate innocent Hindus. Jihadi terrorists who commit mass murder, bombing and arson never are apprehended, tried or sentenced for prison term in India. As a result Jihadi terrorists in India have a field day to continue their kill for thrill game. Jihadi terrorism has created profound trauma in the minds of Hindus. The government does not care about Hindu victims of Jihadi terrorism. Jihadis are operating in a myriad of forms in different parts of India. Politicians, bureaucrats, judicial officials are not interested in exploring the root cause (Islam) of terrorism. Jihadi terrorists are treated with unconditional positive regard, more appeasement, financial assistance, special privileges and extra cash. these incentives reinforce their hatred against Hindus. Jihadis have hired political cronies to continue their terror against the souls of bodies of Hindus. Unless Hindus are organized and show their strength, Jihadi terrorism will continue in India. Hindus should realize that Shanti comes only from Shakti.

1. My Take:
Quote: Pedophile MohaMad was the first one to use large scale terrorism during his Islamic invasion of Arabia. Terrorism has mushroomed in scope and intensity during Islamic invasion of Egypt, Persia and India.
COMMENT: Moslems are supposed to take it as a model, the life-style of Hazrat Mohammad ( the behemoth of barbarism ), & that is exactly what the Moslems ( Moslem Cockroaches ) have been doing for the last 1400 years. It is a futile illusion/neglect that they would, undergo a behavior change, during the next 1400 years ( If Islam exists that long ! ).

2. Quote:Now Jihadis have hired bogus intellectuals, phony politicians and corrupt judicial administrators to endorse Jihadi terrorism. Jihadi terrorists in India have been bribing politicians, bureaucrats and judicial officials for exerting a mass psychological impact and to intimidate innocent Hindus

COMMENT: They certainly have, now they ( the Sullas ) don’t have to hunt alone, they have allies. But it does not change either their Islam or their modus operanda. Sullas still are trying to reach their Kafir-Customers, through savagery & ferocity of Islamic-Jehad. During their Hunting-Trips, they do not hesitate to slaughter the Hateful-Kafirs, if they refuse to repent for not accepting Allah & Hazrat Mohammad as their only true Prophet & Religion. Sullas are still on the Front-Lines of Barbarism.

1. Christians to form

1. Christians to form militia : Church leader
31 Aug, 2008, 1325 hrs IST, IANS

NEW DELHI:
A Church leader from Orissa warned Sunday that the Christians in the state will raise a militia . "All that the governments have been doing, both in the state and at the centre, is paint an illusion. Beautiful, but hollow words is all they have to offer. We will form our own 'Suraksha Vahini'," the priest told IANS on condition of anonymity.

The priest, who is based in Bhubaneshwar and who reached New Delhi Aug 26, said he did not want to be quoted by name. He spoke in the church premises in the heart of the capital.

The Church leader might be in a delegation set to meet President Pratibha Patil Monday. He said, however, that not many were hopeful. "We met the prime minister, the home minister and will meet the president tomorrow. However, I have my doubts that anything fruitful will come out of it. All that we keep getting are fine words that 'this will be done and tha t will be done'.
Orissa has been on the boil since the killing of a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader and four others Aug 23 by the religious Fantics sparked off a wave of violence that has left many dead. Hundreds of people have fled their homes.

Hindu groups in the state stated that Christians killed Saraswati because he opposed religious conversion.

COMMENT: This kind of statement, issued by the big-wigs of the church, subsequent to the slaughter of Swami Lakshmanananda & four of his associates, in front of a horrified crowd of Hindus, is for the Hindus:

“ A welcome to Hell. “

Its intention is not protection, but aggression & getting away with murder of Swami Lakshkananada.

3. Quote: The priest, who is based in Bhubaneshwar and who reached New Delhi Aug 26, said he did not want to be quoted by name. He spoke in the church premises in the heart of the capital.

COMMENT: Hindu society has been facing aggression from Christianity, for at least 500 years, with the result that now Christian converts in Orissa ( & in NE India ), feel strong enough to form a militia & mount a series of violent crimes against the Hindu. Hindu society has suffered colossal losses in terms of people, territory, & property et al. The motives & tricks of Christianity are all dangerous. Jesus Christ was running his mouth:

“ I came to set the earth on fire…Do you suppose I came to bring peace to the world ? No, not peace, but division…..”

Hindus cannot be expected to let the Christian beat the hell out of the Hindu, and let his barbarism go un-challenged.,

4. Quote:. Orissa has been on the boil since the killing of a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader and four others Aug 23 by the religious Fantics sparked off a wave of violence that has left many dead. Hundreds of people have fled their homes

COMMENT: Yes, Orissa has been on the boil, and not without reason either.

What are the Hindus of Orissa supposed to do ? Congratulate the Christians for their violent crime ?

En Masse assertiveness shown by the Hindus of Orissa, is a warning to the Christians that their Hindu victim, is waking up to their treachery, and will not tolerate another stabbing.

5. Quote: Hindu groups in the state stated that Christians killed Saraswati because he opposed religious conversion.

COMMENT: The Christians believe that theirs is the only true religion, and they alone have the right to convert. This is an important clue to their position, which is a one-way street, in which only they have rights, and Heathen Hindus have no similar rights. Since Swami Lakshmananada was re-converting converted Christians back to Hinduism, it was un-acceptable to the Christians. Consequently, Swami Lakshmananada had to be eliminated and eliminated he was. It is now more than clear that, what the Christians want is, a re-assurance of their one-way right to convert, without a corresponding right of the Hindus, to re-convert converted Christians to Hinduism. But there is no likelihood of the Hindu accepting this Christian nonsense ( of one-ways street right ).

6. One of these days, the justice system will catch up to the crimes of Christianity.

Anger is the slayer of men

Anger is the slayer of men and is again their protector. Know this, O thou possessed of great wisdom, that anger is the root of all prosperity and all adversity. O thou beautiful one, he that suppresses his anger earns prosperity. That man, again, who always gives way to anger, reaps adversity from his fierce anger. It is seen in this world that anger is the cause of destruction of every creature. How then can one like me indulge his anger, which is so destructive of the world? The angry man commits sin. The angry man kills even his preceptors. The angry man insults even his superiors in harsh words. The man that is angry fails to distinguish between what should be said and what should not.

There is no act that an angry man may not do, no word that an angry man may not utter. From anger a man may slay one that deserves not to be slain, and may worship one that deserves to be slain. The angry man may even send his own soul to the regions of Yama. Beholding all these faults, the wise control their anger, desirous of obtaining high prosperity both in this and the other world. It is for this that they of tranquil souls have banished wrath. How can one like us indulge in it then? O daughter of Draupada, reflecting upon all this, my anger is not excited. One that acts not against a man, whose wrath has been up, rescues himself as also others from great fear. In fact, he may be regarded to be the physician of the two (viz., himself and angry man).

If a weak man persecuted by others, foolishly becomes angry towards men that are mightier than he, he then becomes himself the cause of his own destruction. And in respect of one who thus deliberately throws away his life, there are no regions hereafter to gain. Therefore, O daughter of Draupada, it has been said that a weak man should always suppress his wrath. And the wise man also who though persecuted, suffers not his wrath to be roused, joyeth in the other world, having passed his persecutor over in indifference. It is for this reason has it been said that a wise man, whether strong or weak, should ever forgive his persecutor even when the latter is in the straits. It is for this that the virtuous applaud them that have conquered their wrath. Indeed, it is the opinion of the virtuous that the honest and forgiving man is ever victorious.

Truth is more beneficial than untruth; and gentleness is more beneficial than cruel behaviour. How can one like me, therefore, even for the purpose of slaying Duryodhana, exhibit anger which has so many faults and which the virtuous banish from their souls? They that are regarded by the learned of foresight, as possessed of true force of character, are certainly those who are wrathful in outward show only. Men of learning and of true insight call him to be possessed of force of character who by his wisdom can suppress his risen wrath. O thou of fair hips, the angry man sees not things in their true light. The man that is angry sees not his way, nor respects persons. The angry man kills even those that deserve not to be killed. The man of wrath slays even his preceptors. Therefore, the man possessing force of character should ever banish wrath to a distance. The man that is overwhelmed with wrath acquires not with ease generosity, dignity, courage, skill, and other attributes belonging to real force of character. A man by forsaking anger can exhibit proper energy, whereas, O wise one, it is highly difficult for the angry man to exhibit his energy at the proper time!

The ignorant always regard anger as equivalent to energy. Wrath, however, has been given to man for the destruction of the world. The man, therefore, who wishes to behave properly, must ever forsake anger. Even one who has abandoned the excellent virtues of his own order, it is certain, indulges in wrath. If fools, of mind without light, transgress in every respect, how, O faultless one, can one like me transgress (like them)? If amongst men there were not persons equal unto the earth in forgiveness, there would be no peace among men but continued strife caused by wrath. If the injured return their injuries, if one chastised by his superior were to chastise his superior in return, the consequence would be the destruction of every creature, and sin also would prevail in the world.

>If the man who has ill speeches from another, returns those speeches afterwards; If the injured man returns his injuries: if the chastised person chastises in return; if fathers slay sons, sons slay fathers, and if husbands slay wives, and wives slay husbands; then how can birth take place in a world where anger prevails so! For, O thou of handsome face, know that the birth of creatures is due to peace! If the kings also, O Draupadi, gives way to wrath, his subjects soon meet with destruction. Wrath, therefore, has for its consequence the destruction and the distress of the people. And because it is seen that there are in the world men who are forgiving like the Earth, it is therefore that creatures derive their life and prosperity.

O beautiful one, one should forgive under every injury. It has been said that the continuation of species is due to man being forgiving. He, indeed, is a wise and excellent person who has conquered his wrath and shows forgiveness even when insulted, oppressed, and angered by a strong person. The man of power who controls his wrath, has (for his enjoyment) numerous everlasting regions; while he that is angry, is called foolish, and meets with destruction both in this and the other world. The illustrious and forgiving Kashyapa has, in this respect, sung the following verses in honour of men that are forgiving.

"Forgiveness is virtue; forgiveness is sacrifice, forgiveness is the Vedas, forgiveness is the Sruti. He that knows this is capable of forgiving everything. Forgiveness is Brahma; forgiveness is truth; forgiveness is stored ascetic merit; forgiveness protects the ascetic merit of the future; forgiveness is asceticism; forgiveness is holiness; and by forgiveness is it that the universe is held together. Persons that are forgiving attain to the regions obtainable by those that have performed meritorious sacrifices, or those that are well conversant with the Vedas, or those that have high ascetic merit. Those that perform Vedic sacrifices as also those that perform the meritorious rites of religion obtain other regions. Men of forgiveness, however, obtain those much adored regions that are in the world of Brahma. Forgiveness is the might of the mighty; forgiveness is sacrifice; forgiveness is quiet of mind. Can one like us abandon forgiveness, which is such, and in which are established Brahma, and truth, and wisdom and the worlds? The man of wisdom should ever forgive, for when he is capable of forgiving everything, he attains to Brahma. The world belongs to those that are forgiving; the other world is also theirs.

The forgiving acquire honours here, and a state of blessedness hereafter. Those men that ever conquer their wrath by forgiveness, obtain the higher regions. Therefore has it been said that forgiveness is the highest virtue."

Those are the verses sung by Kashyapa in respect of those that are ever forgiving. Having listened, O Draupadi, to these verses in respect of forgiveness, content thyself! Give not way to thy wrath! Our grandsire, the son of Santanu, will worship peace; Krishna, the son of Devaki will worship peace; the preceptor Drona and Vidura called Kshatri will both speak of peace; Kripa and Sanjaya also will preach peace. And Somadatta and Yuyutsu and Drona’s son and our grandsire Vyasa, every one of them speaks always of peace. Ever urged by these towards peace, the King (Dhritarashtra) will, I think, return us our kingdom. If however, he yields to temptation, he will meet with destruction. O lady, a crisis has come in the history of Bharatas for plunging them into calamity!

This has been my certain conclusion from some time before! Suyodhana deserves not the kingdom. Therefore has he been unable to acquire forgiveness. I, however, deserve the sovereignty and therefore is it that forgiveness has taken possession of me. Forgiveness and gentleness are the qualities of the self-possessed. They represent eternal virtue. I shall, therefore, truly adopt those qualities.
