Dec 5th - A Tribute to Jatindranath Mukhyopadhyaya
Today 5th Dec is the auspicious birthday of Sri Jatindranath Mukhyopadhyaya.
Jatindranath Mukhyopadhyaya or “Bhaga Jatin” was born on Dec 5th 1879.
Born at Koya village, Nadia district of West Bengal. His parents were Umeshchandra
Mukhyopadhyaya and Sharat Shashi Devi. He lost his father at early age. His mother educated him from childhood.
First war of Indian Independence is one of the important and turning point in history of India. Starting from 1880 to 1915 many revolutionary movements took place. People were motivated by many freedom fighters at that time.
Jatindranath Mukhyopadhyaya is a representation of revolutionary heroes of that time.
He acquired,
Inspiration from Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and Swami Vivekananda
Motivated by Lokamanya Bal Gangadhara Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, Lala Lajpat Rai
Guidance from Sri Aurobindo Ghosh and Sister Nivedita.
Jatin had killed a Tiger once and saved the villagers and hence he got the title “Bhaga Jatin” in Bengali meaning ‘Jatin a person who killed Tiger bravely alone’.
He guided many revolutionaries and was in fore front in Bengal in revolutionary freedom movement.
In 1915 Jatin and his friends tried to collect arms ammunitions from foreign countries and fought bravely with Britishes and sacrificed their lives for Bharat Mata.
Jatin sacrificed his life on September 10th,1915.
His Samadhi is present in Chaaskhand

• Sri Aurobindo Ghosh had quoted:
“ Have you not heard of the great deeds of Jatin Mukherjee? He is a great power. His personality is such that he can lead entire mankind ! Such a body building and powers in his muscles I have not seen in any one. He is a complete man.”
• G.C. Denham (D.I.G, Central Intelligence of the then British govt) had said:
“Amongst all Bengali revolutionary people, Jatin Mukherjee is the most braveful and active revolutionary worker. He is most dangerous to British govt”
A Brave call to all Indians at that time which is relevant to present situation too, by Jatin Mukherjee which is in Bengali –
“ Aamro Maarbo Jaath Jaagbe !”
Meaning: Let us die and make aware the country!
Today is the 130th Birthday of the great soul Jatindranath Mukhyopadhyaya….
Neither the govt nor media tried to remember him.
Let us all pay a tribute on this day. Let us follow their foot steps to fight against today’s terrorism, bribery etc….Let his soul rest in peace….
