Archbishop of Bangalore Bernard Moras has every right to feel wounded and criticize Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for the recent attacks on churches in the state. The Archbishop was furious over Yediyurappa for his government’s failure to curb attacks on churches. In Bangalore, the St James church in Mariammanapalya near Hebbal and the Church of Holy Name of Jesus in Rajarajeshwarinagar were desecrated by miscreants. “What will you do if one of your temples is destroyed?” the Bangalore Archbishop had argued when Yediyuappa called on him. Any peace-loving citizen of India would sympathize with Bernard Moras for the attacks on churches. But what led to the attacks, the Archbishop should mull over seriously, as no Hindu would go berserk without any reason. The Western-bent Indian media had so far highlighted the atrocities and attacks on churches perpetrated by Hindus, but no single news channel or English daily has written a word on the high-voltage communal pamphlets "Satya Darshini" distributed by Mangalore-based missionaries of New Life, which denigrated Hindu gods in the foulest of languages. Paper cuttings of these stories are uploaded on http://greathindu.com. Here are some of the passages - * Urvashi, Lord Vishnu's daughter, is a prostitute. Vashistha this prostitute's son. He, in turn, married his own mother. Such a degraded person Hindu God Rama's guru. (page 48) * When Krishna himself is wallowing in darkness of hell, how can he enlighten others? Since, Krishna himself is a shady character, there is a need for us to liberate his misled followers (page 50). * It was Brahma himself who kidnapped Sita. Since Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva were themselves the victims of lust, it is a sin to consider them as Gods (page 39). * When the Trinity of Hinduism (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are consumed by lust and anger, how can they liberate others. Their projection as Gods is nothing but a joke (page 39). * When Vishnu asked Brahma to commit a sin, he immediately did so. How can such an “evil Brahma” be a Creator of this Universe? How is it possible for both the sinner and the entity which provoked the sin to be gods? (page 39). • God, please liberate the sinful people of India who are worshipping False Gods that believe in the pleasures of illicit ‘Vyabichari’ relationships (page 39). In this scenario, Indian citizens, especially Hindus, would like to know from Bangalore Archbishop about what he feels about denigrating Hindu gods by New Life missionaries. Aren’t the New Life missionaries provoking majority Hindus? The Archbishop should explain. The distribution of these pamphlets caused the Hindu backlash in Mangalore. Though the Christian community may distance itself from New Life activities, they are supporting it by protesting in a big way as if to condone their unethical activities.

This issue did not start
This issue did not start today. For years, missionaries, funded by a global evangelical church network, are targetting India. They openly say they want to convert all of India, as part of a "Project Joshua" (read http://www.sanghparivar.org/blog/bharatbhakta/the-joshua-project-to-conv...). For years, we hindus meekly kept silent. Most of the time, we were too disunited to even realize what was being done to us.
Not just that, these evangelical churches have converted large parts of the northeast, where now Hindu religion is "banned". Read these BBC reports, which never appeared in INdian media.

Separatist group bans Hindu festivities. The leading separatist group in the north-east Indian state of Tripura has ordered indigenous tribespeople to stay away from celebrations of the Hindu festival Durga Puja. The outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura warned that any tribal members seen taking part in the festival would be killed.

Hindu preacher killed by Tripura rebels. A tribal Hindu spiritual leader has been killed by separatist rebels in the northeastern Indian state of Tripura. Police say about ten guerrillas belonging to the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura, the NLFT, broke into a temple near the town of Jirania on Sunday night and shot dead Shanti Tripura, a popular Hindu preacher popularly known as Shanti Kali. The separatist group says it wants to convert all tribespeople in the state to Christianity.

So my question is this - what should hindus do? Keep silent till every one has been converted and Hinduism is "banned" not just from northeast, but all of India? Keep silent till hindus are driven out not just from Kashmir, Tripura, Nagaland, etc. but all of India? Keep silent and just get exterminated in about 200 years from now? What should hindus do? Why don't you tell those who are aggressively propagating their religion, and "banning" hindu religion to stop. Who has started this fight? This is typical hindu liberal reaction which only blames the hindu when he finally reacts to centuries of provocation, after keeping silent meekly for so long.

Being hindus we should
Being hindus we should improve upon ourselves by correcting our mistakes of sati, dowry, child-marriage, fundamentalism and latest terrorism. How far this would lead us?. Religion is not a war to be won at gunpoint and the conversions by bhajrang dal shows how silly we are.
Even the mangalore incidents are sham to our faith. NDTV reporter Shreenivasan jain showed the copies of satyadarshini to camera which did not have any blasphemy against our gods and godesses. But the copies of rss had it all which shows the manipulations by sangh parivar just to create violence in the name of denigration.
If they were sure of the denigration by new-life missionaries' satyadarshini why haven't they given the police the same, inspite of their own government and home minister in place?
It is time real hindus awaken and distance themselves from fanatics who are ought to bring disrepute to our faith by projecting as "religion of hatred".

Indian- Your worry is that once majority of Indians become Christian, hinduism might be banned. If Christianity believes in banning other religions, how would you explain the existence and growth of Sangh in countries like UK and US?
This is a baseless allegation on Christianity. Christianity is the only religion (as far as today's world is concerned) that does not come in the way of friends of other faiths- even when their expression is hurtful to Christian sentiments.
