HINDU RELIGIOUS BOOKS…MYTH OR ANCIENT HISTORY

HINDU RELIGIOUS BOOKS…MYTH OR ANCIENT HISTORY

Vedas, Puraans, Upnishads, are all Hindu religious books, and
just as sacred to Hindus as religious books of Christians are to Christian, and
Muslim religious books to Muslim. There have been riots, street fights, bloody
protest in case something derogatory is said about the books of Christians and
Muslims. However since we were ruled by invaders till the year 1947, our
religious books are called Myths, and our scriptures, Mythology. And since we
were not independent, we were forced to accept that. But what happened after
1947? Did the
Hindu religious books have the pride of place they deserved? NO CERTAINLY NOT
.

Let us first get the meaning of Myth:

A.

The
meaning of myth as per TheFreeDictionary
:

1)

A traditional, typically ancient
story dealing with supernatural beings, ancestors, or heroes that serves as a
fundamental type in the worldview of a people.

2)

A popular belief or story that has
become associated with a person, institution, or occurrence, especially one
considered to illustrate a cultural ideal.

3)

A fiction or half-truth, especially
one that forms part of an ideology.

4)

A fictitious story, person, or thing.

B.

The
meaning of myth as per Dictionary.com
:

1)

A traditional or legendary story, usually
concerning some being or hero or event, with or without a determinable basis of
act.

2)

Stories or matter of this kind

3)

Any invented story, idea, or concept

4)

An imaginary or fictitious thing or
person.

5)

An unproved or false collective
belief that is used to justify a social institution.

It seems that after independence Hindus were transferred as a
saleable commodity to the new political rulers for exploitation and manipulation.
And religious leaders also joined these political rulers to enjoy this fruit of
exploitation. Every political party has ruled India, including those who have
publicly advocated interest of Hindus paramount in their agenda. YET NOTHING HAS
BEEN DONE
. They have given reasons why they could not construct
temple at Ayodhya and usher in uniform civil code, but why they could not do
simple things is something beyond comprehension of the writer.

One of the simple things that any political party could have
done was to at least make sure that Hindu religious books are not called myths and
our entire scriptures as mythology
. Why no Hindu religious leader
has done anything about it, is for readers to judge. But why our Hindu society
did nothing is something more alarming and definitely points to our extreme
passive attitude.

Every individual Hindu has to do something about it. And more
so by people above the age of 50 years. People above
fifty (I am above fifty) must feel ashamed for what we are passing on as
inheritance to the next generation (passive attitude, false ego and misplaced
pride) and start discussing this openly with others, of equal age, elders and
more especially with younger generation
.

But do not expect Hindus above the age of 50 to do that. The
false ego and misplaced pride will not let them do this. Like a lowest grade
clerk or a junior most supervisor, they will give reasons for this, exonerating
themselves. They will blame everything else except their attitude. Hindu
society is going down, disintegrating, but who cares?

I have tried to find a solution to change this attitude, but
have so far failed. DOES ANY ONE ELSE HAS A BETTER SOLUTION TO CHANGE THE
ATTITUDE OF HINDUS?

i salute u for raising this

i salute u for raising this valuable matter!

when we r getting more and more physical evidences(latest discovered Ram setu for Ramayan and Dwarka city under the sea for Mahabharat), then how one can tell those thing as 'myth'?

one can argue at this point: why shoud we believe that the submerged bridge as Ram setu and linked to Ramayan, why not it's a Adam bridge or linked to other incident ?
and also, why shoud we believe lost Dwarka city was the part of Mahabharat, why those cud not be linked to other incident?

above questions r valid and cud create confusion to accept those evidences for Ramayan or Mahabharat!

well, i am clarifying and answering those question what r now-a days being raised!

"we did not know about the invention of lost Dwarka city or Ram setu before its' invention but we believed those TO BE REAL as per the story of our epic and we started finding them out after independence! ultimately, we found them!! and we found them as real which were situated at exactly as those were described in the epics! there itself so called mythology comes to be real and i wonder, still we r not accepting those as real wonder of earth! no other scriptures or story were written about submerged bridge or lost Dwarka city before its' invention to claim them to be related to other incident as Ramayan or Mahabharat already having the occurence of those before their invention! now, if one can tell submerged bridge as adam bridge(not Ram setu), then there shud have been supported story but we know there were no story other than Ramayan & Mahabharat since begining!so, why can't we tell the opposition as 'myth' as they have no basis to call 'adam bridge'!? but we have the basis to call 'Ram setu'! then, why in our mind, the doubt or myth are making their house? one has to fabricate story now to claim those to be the reason to relate with other incident! Ramayan and Mahabharat story only in the world before their invention, were mentioning about submerged bridge or about lost Dwarka city which swallowed by sea after the death of Lord Krishna! and therefore, it is undoubtedly proved that those were Ram setu or Krishna's Dwarka nagari! and hence it proved that Ramayan & Mahabharat were not myth but our real story of our ancestors!"

i fear, two foreign religion can make up some story in near future to claim adam bridge for them if we not subscribing those as part of our hystory! this is the high time to subscribe those officially(in hystory book , in other govt. document)otherwise those may be part of islamic or christianity story as slowly this nation is being converted to islamic/evangelic!!and believe me, they can do this!!

Shri Saugato Banerjee, Very

Shri Saugato Banerjee,

Very interesting points has been raised by you.

The submerged city of Dwarka and RAMSETU are part of ancient India, and since major religion of the world (leaving Hindu religion) are only 2000 years old, these find are part of Hindu history.

Since we are living in the Information Age there is no possibility that anyone else can stake a claim for these finds. India is our country. Ancient culture and ancient historical finds belong to Hindus only.

sir, i still fear!my

sir, i still fear!my intention to mention about 'claim' by others was : they can fabricate a story and will document it officially! present generation will not believe but next generation will believe as they wud find this country then, may be islamic or evangelic!
the fact is that these two and other all evidences in india or sri lanka have not been documented still by officially!

Sir, Have no fear about

Sir,

Have no fear about this. The only way our ancient historical finds can be hijacked is in case we are once again ruled by invaders. There does not seem to be any such possibility.

However Hindus have to change their attitude from passive onlookers to active participants in all national building exercises.
