education is the fundamental right according to our constitution.The motto of education is the all round development of a person.
But in our present education system, which is called mecaulay's system of education,the goal of education is not yet reaching.our school collages can make a person more knowledgeble , but not an educated.
our collages can cerate engineers,doctors ; but it can't build a good man. this is the main drawback of this education system.
In gurukula system of education the students are joined to boarding schools called "gurukula"s at an age of 6. There he learn the "veda"s, the source of knowledge in first 6 years ; and then the student learn any one subject of his interest in another six years.Totally he use to spend the 12 whole years of his life with his teacher.There "guru", the teacher teaches the behaviour and responsiblities of a person about this society.By all these the student becomes a responcible person and will have mastery over any one subject with the vedas.
But in our present education system the student will spend only 6 hours in school.Even after the completion of his degree i.e even after studying 21 years, one could not get mastery over any singe subject. For example for engineering course the student must study minimum of 48 diffrent subjects but after the exam most of the students couldn't answer for the questions of previous semester subjects. This is happening in all fields of our education system.
In other words the minds of our childern are becoming the bags of filled knoledge.No sutdent knows what to do in biharting the details of olden empires , wars etc.marks is the only measurement of capacity of student in this system.
So we must think to educate our children not to make more knowledgeable.
otherwise the capacity of "citizens of tomorrow" may be spent and destoryed in biharting some useless things.
