Varun – a poster boy of Hindutva or Hindutva bashers?
Last week was full of Varun. The media splashed his speech, his handsome face that 'hid a fanatic mentality' (to borrow media terms) on TV and newspapers till he nearly came out of your ears. The oft repeated headlines are 'new poster boy of Hindutva'. Is it not funny that the flag bearer of Hindutva – RSS that is called Sangh in media parlance has not spoken a word in favour of Varun since the controvery broke out? Or that none of top BJP leaders have endorsed his statement but only restricted themselves to defending BJP against over enthusiastic election commission and media? But, still he is called Sangh poster boy or Hindutva poster boy? So, who has made him the Hindutva poster boy – obviously the media, as it suits its end to demonize Hindus, Hindutva ideology and any person speaking for Hindus.
The same media deigns lack of information or ducks the poison that Congress has injected into body politics since independence – first with the sham secularism, then the subtle game of making caste based electoral fights and community (the dictionary derivative of communal is community) fight community. It was only because other caste groups became wiser that they decided to become kings instead of king makers through casteist outfits lionized as secular parties by our marxist parivar dominated intellectual class. The formula being simple – any person who breaks Hindu unity is secular. The media played down the pampering of Madani by both 'secular' and 'marxist' parivar in Tamil Nadu and Kerala till he chose to become a darling of 'Marxist' parivar. We have Kidwai talking of declaring fatwa against BJP. We have Bangaladeshi Muslims creating havoc in North East for years and having a free run in West Bengal with blessings of Marxist parivar but media winks at it as it is helping so called 'secular forces' even at the cost of nation's integrity. Any action against these 'poor' migrants becomes communal. Why none of such hates speeches or actions never worried media is a big question. Even today the news of Tasleema not being allowed to get a resident permit in India shows the hollow talks of secularists.
My contention is that Varun is a poster boy of Hindutva bashers and not Hindutva forces.
The Gandhi scion has never gone to RSS though is father did try to start a Congress 'shakhas' on similar lines during Emergency but failed miserably. But, he has surely inherited the strong headedness of his famous father. It is a joke, as suggested by many commentators, that he was tutored by Sangh forces to speak out the way he did. Give us a break – a 29 year old post graduate in social sciences with a family back ground of inherited hard boiled fourth generation political genes – tutored by others? You are not giving due credit – good or bad to the young man. I submit that he spoke the way he did with clear idea about where it would lead. With the help of media he has been shot into prominence in the eyes of electorate. Or as media has put it he has become the 'poster boy' of Hindutva fermament with its unwitting help. Otherwise media would have just let him trudge it out in obscure Pilibhit as the 'other' Gandhi. So, he has got what he wants. What if he is disqualified for six years? A very small price to pay for a young man looking for a leading role in politics. Lets us not forget that it is the same media and the 'secular rulers' of Maharashtra who have made Raj Thackerey what he is today. Our political leadership and media has taught our young politicians that unless you turn to violence, create controversy you cannot make a niceh for yourself. So, we will have to live with it, till we change our ways.

varun is not a poster boy,
varun is not a poster boy, he is a true leader. He is the greatest among all the so called young leaders. He is an educated, young and energetic leader who wants to do some great things for the country.
Looking at his abilities and future prospect, there was a conspiracy to destroy his political carrer before he starts. All the great leaders of past have to face these type of situations, and like them Varun became darling of the people.
The people came automatically in support of Varun Gandhi. And the way he is handling the adverse situation in opportunity shows the skills of a great leader.
