Civil Society protests against defamation against RSS

Thousands of people protested outside the office of a TV channel which carried a vicious and malicious unsubstantiated propaganda against RSS leaders.

In what has been seen as a low point in media credibility and as an evidence of the media-politics nexus, an English news channel named 'Headlines Today' carried politically motivated accusations with libelous content against some RSS leaders. Protesting this news item, thousands of people from the civil society protested outside the office of the TV channel.

Interestingly though, rather than seeking apology, the news channel tried to act as martyrs, by showing some broken window panes and flower pots which many allege was the handiwork of the TV channel team itself.

Many Sangh leaders and members of the civil society accross the country have expressed serious concern over the degeneration of the media into a pawn of political forces.

RSS, Bomb Blasts & Media credibility

By arisebharat

The English Electronic media seems to have got into its latest ” Breaking News mode ” by linking the RSS ( Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) to the blasts in Ajmer, Mecca Masjid in Hyd . Channels like CNN-IBN, seem to be dead sure about the RSS involvement in terror attacks citing CBI information..and ofcourse they claim to have “inside information” from CBI & govt.  This is the typical ” spit and run journalism” that the Indian English media employs.

Indian Census and Muslim population growth

Census

Vinod Kumar

I, personally, was not at all surprised; alarmed, yes -- but surprised -- no, by the "revelations" of the Census 2001. The Muslim population growth in India at one and half times the rate of Hindu population growth rate is no "revelation" and given the Hindu mindset and priorities neither is the decline in the rate of growth of Hindu population.. The broad outlines have been there for centuries for anyone to see, if only one was willing to face the reality.

Despite Pune bomb blast having caught us napping again, India continues to play chess with Pakistan.

By Sunita Vakil

Hope, as they say, is a pathological belief in the occurrence of the impossible. The same can be said of India-Pakistan relations which are caught in the cusp between hope and despair. The decision to press ahead with the Indo-Pak talks even after the dastardly attack in Pune has once again led to the soaring of expectations on both sides of the border. Despite extreme provocation, the Centre has held firm when it comes to continuing talks proving India’s compulsive fascination for a dialogue whose outcome is hopelessly predictable. For over six decades, India has shown patience in dealing with Pakistan, hoping for reciprocatory.

My name is not Khan, I am Mr Kaul

I am not Khan. My name bears a different set of four letters: K A U L. Kaul. As those who know Indian names would understand I happened to be born in a family which was called Hindu by others. Hence, we were sure, we would never get a friend like KJ to make a movie on our humiliations, and the contemptuous and forced exile from our homeland. It's not fashionable. It's fashionable to get a Khan as a friend and portray his agony and pains and sufferings when he is asked by a US private to take off his shoes and show his socks. Natural and quite justifiable that Khan must feel insulted and enraged. Enough Masala to make a movie.

Cow slaughter ban, a good step by Karnataka Govt. - Shri. Anwar Manippady

I feel it’s a privilege as a citizen of this great country India and as a true son of Bharath Mata to write about the duties of a citizen belonging to this great nation.
It’s very important and necessary for every Indian to be cordial amiable  and understanding of our fellow brethren in the country.
One should understand the feelings, problems, belief and faith of the fellow citizens of the this country. Every citizen should accommodate the fellow citizen in every way possible to help the society, the state and the country to attain peace, develop and growth to our potential. In this pretext I would like to delve into the recent cow slaughter ban promulgation.

Beijing Gaffe lands Jairam Ramesh in Chinese soup

By Sunita Vakil

“Controversy is wretched when it is only an attempt to prove another wrong”, says F.W-Robestson Environmental minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh’s association with controversies is too well known. He has made news as much for doing a splendid job at Copenhagen as for his indiscreet remarks on issues and colleagues. The latest storm whipped up by his critical comments on the UPA’s policies on foreign soil proves that he is at wits end again.
On a visit to China recently, the minister of state for Environment and Forests made the worst gaffe by reportedly saying that the Home Ministry and the security establishment were being “alarmist” and “Paranoid” when it came to Chinese companies wanting to operate in India. It seems that the Minister is suffering from the dreaded foot in the month disease.
