We often celebrate festivals or days of national importance and also mourn the death and sacrifices of great leaders and other people.The reason we do this is to keep on reminding ourselves and the present and future generations about our history so that they remember and learn from past events.This is an universal phenomenon.Such days or periods unifies people and touches emotional chords within.

Similarly we thought that we should also remember a really dark chapter in Orkut for "Sangha Parivaar" communities and after consultation the central team (http://www.orkut.co.in/Community.aspx?cmm=39093363) we all decided to go forward with this proposal of
"Orkut Hindu Shakti Vijay Saptah"

The incident-

What exactly happened-
Between 13-14 june/2007, RSS and related communities was blocked by Orkut ,the details of this blockade remains mysterious till date but this was done very systematically as all RSS and pro Hindutvawadi communities went offline.According to our knowledge this action was taken by UPA govt supporters who might have used their influence to get these communities banned.As Orkut takes such swift actions of blocking and deleting communities only after complaints are made or registered by police or govt.
But after tremendous protest,thousand of mass emails by our supporters all the RSS and related communities were given back on 16th june 2007.

Current Scenario-
Currently there are over 1,00,000 members in all pro RSS and hindutvavadi communities,but a year back these numbers were below 25000 and it could never had increased if these communities weren't retrieved and all this could happen due to mass protest and efforts taken by members and community owners.Currently we have Ownership and healthy membership spread all across in important communities like India and Indian politics etc

Hence we shouldn't just forget this important event in Orkut history as such conditions may prevail again if we become ignorant.This also reminds us of the unjust ban on RSS in 1947-48  and during emergency rule.

The plan/outcome -

This attack on RSS and Hindutva communities wasn't specific to RSS itself,but it wanted to break the morale of young supporters ,who support our movement/ideology across Orkut and hence more and more communities are supporting us.
All major communities related to RSS ,Hindutva , Nationalist leaders and preachers communities have been requested to change the display picture to what one can see in our profile

Currently - Both the Hinduism communities,RSS,VHP,ABVP,HSS communities have agreed to join us.Overall this even will cover over 1 lakh+ members of these communities above and with proper visibility in India community,it aims to cover atleast half of the 5.5 lakhs members in INDIA community

The dates stretch from 10th -17th june
