It is the tradition of RSS that the new RSS Sarasanghachalak after assuming office visit all parts of the country to meet the Swayamsevaks. My Bangalore visit this time has been planned in this way. Those who do not understand the sangh’s tradition speculate and incorrectly interpret our activities. For example, some sections of media is saying that I have come here to give advice to some specific persons of a particular political party.

This happens because of  lack of understanding about Sangh. If someone tries to understand the sangh from outside or from a distance then these types of mis-understandings are quite possible. For example,

we have just seen physical exercises demonstrated by swayamsevaks, so one can assume that sangh is a gymnasium, we play Kabaddi also and some good national kabaddi players are from sangh; so one can assume that Sangh is the practice ground for Kabaddi, we saw Ghosh (band) demonstration  was a nice song sung by swavamsevak so one can easily assume that it is a national musical school, when we do flag hosting people think that sangh is a political party with this flag as a party symbol and so on….

Sangh’s name is very well known but awareness is not much about its work. Sangh is special, there is no parallel work like sangh that’s why we say – sky is only one, sea is only one, Ram-Ravan battle was only one of its kind, there is no parallel to these.  RSS is a unique organistion. RSS can be best understood only through experience,  For example if someone tries to explain the taste of sugar, he can write a book,  explain the chemical composition, but to really know the taste of sugar one has to simply take a spoon of sugar and eat it, that’s the most easiest way of understanding the taste – experience the taste. The experience of Sangh will happen only after coming inside the sangh. There is no hidden program in sangh, everything happens in open ground and anyone can join and anyone can leave at anytime.

Sangh work is progressing, sangh’s volunteers are working towards sangh’s growth, however now it is important for country and world to understand the sangh. Today, I will try to provide a brief introduction of  sangh to understand it from outside.

Sangh work is not based on reaction, it is devotional

First specialty of sangh is, it does not oppose anyone. Once in a press conference one journalist asked a question to second RSS chief Guruji – “In my village, there are no Muslims or Christians. Do you feel sangh is required in my village?” Guru ji’s said “even if there is no Muslim and Christian in the whole world still sangh work is a must”. Sangh has not started as a reaction to something. Sangh is working towards an organized society  and it is a devotional work. Organized Hindu society is not only the need of this country,but that of the whole world.

Now sangh work is very big, there is huge support from the society. There is no real opposition to sangh, some people oppose just to showcase themselves. Sangh swavayamsevaks with the blessings from the society are running more than one lakh fifty thousand social service projects. Sangh work runs optimally with guru-dakshina. Nothing remains at the end of the year. So there is no accumulated corpus of funds. As we  have sufficient resources ,there are no worries about sustaining our activities.

Why sangh work is important for world

In Jabalpur, just before attending a public function, I saw few scenes of a movie “11^th hour”. It was not a conventional movie. Representative of each country was presenting his/her thoughts on environmental issues, preventive mechanisms to be adopted. They were suitable changes in our life style. 

After industrialization man has become greedy. We are exploiting nature and have adopted unsustainable destructive lifestyle. The only solution which can save this world from this situation is to adopt a life style which is sustainable. The Hindu way of life is the only such life style. Our values teach us to lead a harmonious life with nature and our surroundings.

Unity in diversity

Many people in this world think that same language, appearance, economic situation or God is a prerequisite for unity. Those who become  powerful will start imposing unity based on one or several of these things.  Differences are not tolerated and are leading to  fights. This is the biggest challenge that we are facing today.

Hindus naturally perceive unity in diversity.  They don’t nurture unjustifiable ambitions of dominating the whole world. They don’t see world as a market. A Hindu does not consider language, religion or God as  barriers for unity. There is unity in diversity  – its not tolerance, but acceptance. Our thinking is “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” and today, world needs this concept. Whole world is looking at Bharat which has the capability to provide the balance between man-society-nature.

Today’s situation of Bharat

Even after so many years of independence our national boundaries are not safe – there is a big question mark on national security. In west, we have Pakistan whose very existence is to oppose Bharat. In north, we have China, who says we are friends, but claims states (Arunanchal Pradesh) which are integral part of Bharat. China has dual face. We have experienced this in 1962. Bangladesh is sending huge numbers of infiltrators into Assam and West Bengal. Nepal has become the hub to export fake Indian currency, illegal arms and ammunitions to Bharat. Mumbai attacks were carried out by terrorists who came  from Sea.

So called Naxalite issue in our society is actually sponsored by China and ISI. Our own people say that problem is due to exploitation of common man by government machinery. Today, we see tough talks by government but it is not getting converted into tough actions. Administration is not clear what should be done. Political system is exploiting Naxal issue for vote bank politics. No one is looking the issue from the angle of national interest.

In society, there is no harmony.In Maharashtra Vidhansabha one can take oath in English but he/she can not take oath in Hindi. There may be some problems of employment in Maharashtra, but is it more important than national integration? Political leaders are

Recently, first time after independence Karnataka and Tamilnadu government has done a great job towards national integration by installing the Tiruvallivar’s statue in Bangalore and Sarvagya statue at Chennai. Most of our politicians are behaving like British – divide and rule. And there is no change.

Current economic development is incomplete and unbalanced.We have economic growth but farmers are committing suicide; this economic model is not suited for our country.  The model should be decided by the resources, aspiration of people, social psychology and social-strength. Everywhere there is disappointment. But sangh swayamsevaks are not disappointed.

Pa Pu Dr Hedgewar and other great leaders of that time and all sangh’s karyakarta even today believe that,  only  by building the character of the  common man   all the good work for the nation can be accomplished. 

In our country the only thought which respects diversity is Hindu thought and therefore we say Hindusthan is Hindu Rashtra. In this country all are Hindus - forefathers of Muslims and Christians were also Hindus.

One of the MP of Rajyasabha, from Samajwadi Party asked me, “why do you oppose Sachchar Committee report? As you know all the Muslims in this country can not leave the Hindu sanskriti; they still sing Bhajans, they sing kawwali, they perform Murti puja  By implementing sachchar Committee’s recommendations, this culture will be strengthened. ”. I said – please tell this to common Muslim and if he stops objecting Vande Mataram, I will not oppose the report.

Our ancestors, culture and nation are same. Some people say proudly that they are Hindu, some says with little bit of hesitation that they are hindu, some know they are hindu, some do not know that they are hindu. To unite this country there is only one way – Hindu way. Whenever there was influence of Hinduism, nation was prosperous and whenever there was lack of Hindu feelings nation suffered and we paid a huge price. Even today,  wherever there is lack of Hindu feelings or Hindu population we have multiple problems in that area of nation.

We need to create an  organized-society. First we should organize those who are recognized by the constitution as Hindus , so that society can stand on its own. This will not happen with speeches.

Persons with good character solve multiple problems that we are facing. In RSS Shakhas   we create people with good character. For a happier world, India should become propserous. India can propser when our organization becomes stronger. Our organization is growing. But we need to match the pace of the changing times. In this context, We need support from all of you. Then only Bharat will become vishwaguru.
