THIRUVANANTHAPURAM
: At least ten Hindu activists including BJP district president C
Sivankutty have been seriously injured in an attack by Kerala Police
and DYFI criminals in the state capital today.

Accordingly
to eye witness DYFI criminals took out a march towards the secretariat
where the Yuva Morcha activists were staging a dharna demanding the
withdrawal of class seven textbooks and cancellation of appointments to
the post of university assistants.

The
clash occurred when the DYFI thugs with the support of state Police
pelted stones at the Yuva Morcha activists. Police restored to
lathicharge and used tear gas shells to against Hindu activists who
were peacefully staging the dharna.

Protest
marches are continuing in state capital and BJP senior leaders rushed
the spot. Meanwhile, city Police commissioner assured the BJP leaders
action would be taken within 24 hours.

BJP state unit called for a district hartal here tomorrow against the brutality on Hindu activists.

CPI(M)'s advice to SP exposed Left parties' agenda: BJP

New Delhi (PTI): The BJP on wednesday
said that the communal agenda of the Left parties have been exposed
after the CPI(M)'s advice to the Samajwadi Party to oppose the nuclear
deal to save Muslim votes.

"Left parties have been exposed. The
CPI(M) says Mulayam Singh will anguish Muslim voters if they supported
the Indo-US nuclear deal. This is the line they have been pursuing all
the time and they are communal," senior party leader Venkiah Naidu said
here on wednesday.

"I wonder how could an international
issue be linked to a particular religion. Deal or no deal, it has
nothing to do with Hindus, Christians, Muslims or Sikhs. The issue has
to be decided by taking into account the interests of the nation," he
added.

"The statement is unfair, unjustified and BJP condemns it," Naidu said.

M K Pandhe, a member of the CPI(M)
Polit Bureau had cautioned Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav
that his party might lose the support of Muslims if he decides to go
with the UPA on the issue of Indo-US nuclear deal.

However, the CPI(M) on wednesday
distanced itself from the statement made by Pandhe saying his remarks
were not the views of the party.

"Remarks made by M K Pandhe, member,
Polit Bureau, on the nuclear deal issue on June 23 are not the views of
the party," party General Secretary Prakash Karat said in a statement
on wednesday.

They are now communal too
Communism and communalism combined together is a sure potion to destroy
India. CPM is an example of a party which can do anything to achieve
its nefarious end. Earlier they were having Extra-territorial loyalty
which was evident from the attitude during the was China foisted on
India in 1962. They were castiest too which became evident when Smt.
K.R. Gowri was dumped and instead Nayanar was made Chief Minister.
Carving out a separate district Malappuram did unmask the communalist
pandering streak in them. Now it has come out in the open wide open.
They represent their masters across our borders.

I have a doubt. W. Bengal they are ruling for over 30 years now. Why
these communists are not able to capute power in the other half of the
erstwhile undivided Bengal now Bangladesh. Culture, language etc. are

opportunistic communalism won't work there. It can only hoodwink the

Communists have no comments on Chinese incursions on Indian soil.
Communists have nothing to say on the ethnic cleansing of Kashmir
valey. Communists have nothing to say when the Hurriat conference
agistate against allotment of 40 acres of land to Amarnath Temple
Board, rather they support the separatists.

If instead of muslims, it is hindus then they would have now running

to worship god secretly but party won’t have any responsibility if some one exposes
it. If you are state level leader you may escape disciplinary action but strict
action will be taken if any local Hindu leaders show courage to worship god.

'Retrieve illegal land owned by Wahab: BJP

: The BJP in Kerala would
launch an agitation if the LDF Government failed to
seize the land "illegally" owned by Muslim
League leader and Rajya Sabha MP P V Abdul Wahab here,
a senior party leader said here yesterday.

"Government should immediately initiate steps
to retrieve the land illegally owned by Wahab. If not,
our party will go on an agitation", BJP leader
O Rajagopal said while addressing party workers in front
of Indus Motors, where the MP is accused of possessing
land.

Noting that the successive governments in the state
had turned a blind eye to such a "serious"
issue, the former Union Minister said the present LDF
rule was pretending as if it was not aware of the matter
despite it being widely reported in the press.

The district unit of the BJP would take out a protest
march to Indus Motors on July 1 in this regard, he added.

BJP state Vice-President V Muraleedharan and Yuva Morcha
state President K Surendran were also present.

Politburo member M K Pandhe today tried to claim he didn’t mean to
inject a “communal” twist in the nuclear deal debate. But his remark
that “an overwhelming majority of the Muslim masses” oppose the nuclear
deal and that Mulayam Singh Yadav should think twice before supporting
it sparked off a chorus of outrage from Muslim organisations and
leaders to the Samajwadi Party itself. ain from virtually all

communalise foreign policy was condemnable and, yes, some Muslim groups
are opposed to the nuclear deal with the United States but that has
nothing to do with their being Muslim. Remarks like these, they said,

that Muslims have to “prove” their loyalty to the “national interest”
every time there is a debate over it.

“I know about minorities very well,” said SP chief Mulayam
Singh Yadav angrily when reporters asked him about Pandhe’s remarks. He
spoke to CPM general secretary Prakash Karat over the phone and is
learnt to have told him that his party will take a call on the deal
after a meeting with the UNPA on July 3.

The Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind, India’s largest Muslim
organization, has decided to convene a meeting of its working committee
on July 1 to protest against CPM’s attempt to “club the nuclear deal
with the Muslim community.” Said spokesperson Moulana Abdul Hameed
Noomani: “What right does the CPM have to speak on behalf of the Muslim
community? And, more importantly, why have they singled out the Muslim
community on this issue? It may serve their political purpose but it
was ethically wrong and we are bound to express our strong reservation
against this,” he said.

“The Indo-US nuclear deal,” said Noomani, “is an issue of
national significance. Every community member is bound to have their
own take on the issue. Why is the Left is not talking about what other
communities feel? What the Left is now doing is nothing but dirty
politics.”

Noomani acknowledged that there are questions about the
deal. “It’s true that there are many in the community who are
suspicious about the American involvement in the deal but in every
community there will be those who oppose it and who support it. The
issue is not whether the deal is good or bad. The issue is why has the
CPM singled out Muslims? It’s high time the CPM realizes that national
interest is more important than ideological interest. They can go on
supporting China but don’t use the Muslim community to make their
case,” he said.

The Jamaat-e-Islami, which has been opposing the deal right
from the beginning, is also angry at Pandhe’s remarks. “We oppose the
deal because we feel it is not in the national interest. But it’s wrong
of the CPM to club the nuclear deal with the Muslim community. It only
communalises the issue,” said S Q R Illyasi, spokesperson of
Jamaat-e-Islami.

“Left parties are using the shoulders of the Muslims to
pursue their own agenda. The deal is strictly a political and
diplomatic issue between two sovereign governments so how can it be
linked to Islam or any other religion?’” said Maulana Khalid Rashid,
Naib imam of the Idgah Lucknow.

Rashid had another question for the CPM. “How come the Left
advocates the cause of Muslims despite clear evidence that Muslims are
the most deprived and disadvantaged sections of the society in the
Communist government of West Bengal.”

He however added that common Muslims do have reservations
with the growing ties of India with the USA. “They view USA as an
adversary and they feel by entering into any deal with the US, India
will have to follow their dictates”, he added.

Said Zafaryaab Jilani, member of the All India Muslim
Personal Law Board: “The nuclear deal is a political issue and cannot
be linked with Islam.” Saying that there was disquiet in the community
over the US Administration “equating Islam with terrorism,” he said:
“Many Muslims feel that the deal with the US will ultimately hurt the
interests of the country and that means everybody, not just Muslims
alone.”

This is reinforced by empirical data from the survey of
18,750 voters conducted by The Indian Express in partnership with
CNN-IBN and CSDS in September 2007 ¿ also a moment when tensions
between the UPA and the Left over the deal seemed to have reached a
tipping point. The survey across 18 states found that only 26 per cent
of the respondents claimed knowledge about the nuclear deal - this was
the group that claimed highest exposure to the media, defined in terms
of frequency of TV news viewership and newspaper readership. Within
this small percentage, however, the verdict was split more or less
evenly, except among Left voters.

Significantly, division among Muslims approximated the
division in the larger population — 19 per cent supported the deal and
15 per cent were opposed to it. In other words, the survey found no
evidence to support Pandhe’s remarks that invoke a monolithic “Muslim”
opinion that is against the deal.

The prime reason cited by the Devaswom Minister to bring new Devaswom
ordinance was to eliminate corruption from devaswom Department and in
the guise of stopping corruption, a New Devaswom ordinance was passed
which ensured Temple looting and PSC appointments in Temples so that
they can push more communist sympathisers as happened in the case of
Kerala university appointments.

Ever
since the new Board of Sudhagaran took charge under the so called
Corruption free Devaswom Ordinance, The Temple administration stooped
to ever time low , The CPM interested only in

money interfered in each and every aspect and corruption in the Board escalated to ever time high.

Mangalam
daily exposed widespread corruption in the appointment of temple
priests (Pujaris) in temples under Travancode Devaswom Board. There
were vacancies for 68 Pujaris and the board has received 350
applications. A board member has collected two to three lakhs from the
candidates as bribe .The board has also dumped a 14 year old law to
protect these illegal appointments.

Interviews for these posts were held in three stages. In the interview the Thantri
can award up to 60 marks out of hundred to each candidate .The rest 40
marks are given by the board members. One member did not put any marks
deliberately. The idea was to add enough marks for a given candidate to
qualify for the post after the interview is over.

The
member, after collecting lakhs of rupees from the candidates, demanded
the board to convene a meeting to finalise the short list. But when the
president and the other member informed that short list has already
been finalised, the member argued that no mark has been given by the
member. The member has blocked the list from being published.

It
is the member’s son who is pulling the strings from behind and the main
agent who collected money is a Personal Assistant of a former Board
Member. The political leader who was instrumental in the appointment of
this member is also involved in this fraud. A recently appointed senior
official is also involved whose three relatives have found their way to
the short list.

It is also confirmed that big amounts were withdrawn from the bank accounts of candidates and their parents, last week.

It
is also reported that there is widespread corruption in transferring
devaswom employees. Recently the board has cancelled an order that came
into force in 1944 regarding appointing women in sub groups.

The
order prohibits women below the age of 50 from being appointed in
subgroups. After cancelling this order, the board has appointed some
women employees in key positions in sub groups after taking huge
bribes. The bribe was taken depending on the income of the temples in
which they were appointed.

All the questions are genuine questions of beginners and amma's answers are simple and very sensible to even illiterates. If HAV or some other parivar activists can take the lead and distribute it among them it will defenitely help. Also it would be useful if we can give it to shopowners and businessmen. There is chance that they will support this cause in the future. I personally purchased many copies and disributed it among many of my aquaintances and relatives.

China’s Interest Is Our Interest---Left

The
current opposition of the leftist parties—particularly, the Communist
Party of India (Marxist)— to the agreement (the so-called 123
agreement) with the US on civil nuclear co-operation and to India’s
developing strategic relations with the US takes one mind back to the
days before the visit of President Hu jintao of China to India in
November last year.

2. A Chinese company had won a contract for the construction of a
gas pipeline from the Godavari area in Andhra Pradesh. It wanted to
bring about 1,000 Chinese engineers to work in the project. The
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Intelligence Bureau of the
Government of India were not clearing the issue of visas to the Chinese
engineers.They asked a number of inconvenient questions as to why it
was necessary for the Chinese company to bring in so many of their
engineers when unemployed Indian engineers were available.

3. There was also a paper prepared by the National Security Council
Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Office suggesting that proposals
for foreign investments in sensitive sectors such as telecommunication
services from China, Pakistan and Bangladesh should be subjected to a
special security vetting.

4. Shri Sitaram Yechury of the Communist Party of India (Marxist),
allegedly at the instance of the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi, raised a
big hue and cry about it and literally forced the Government of India
to order the issue of visas to the Chinese engineers and to drop the
proposal for a special security vetting for Chinese investment
proposals in sensitive sectors.

5. After the visit of Mr.Hu was over, the “Times Now” news channel
had invited me to participate in a discussion on the visit. Shri Arnab
Goswami of the Channel anchored the discussions. Shri D. Raja, the
member of the Rajya Sabha from the CPI, participated in the discussions
from Delhi.I told Shri Raja: ” It is surprising that you pressurised
the Government to issue visas to 1000 Chinese engineers. You were not
bothered about Indian engineers not getting these jobs. If a US company
had wanted to bring 1000 American engineers, would you have urged the
Government to issue visas to them?”

6. Shri Raja told me: ” Mr.Raman, you are an eminent person. You should not mislead people by raising such scenarios”.

7. For the last two months, the Chinese authorities have been
expressing their concern over reports that India has joined hands with
the US, Japan and Australia to counter the growing Chinese naval power
in the region and that the forthcoming naval exercise in the Bay of
Bengal involving the navies of these countries plus Singapore is the
beginning of this project to counter the Chinese naval power and
presence in the Bay of Bengal/ Indian Ocean region.

8. It is not without significance that the vigorous campaign of the
leftist parties—-particularly of the CPI (Marxist)— against the
recently concluded Indo-US agreement on civil nuclear co-operation and
against the growing strategic interactions between India and US in
particular has coincided with the beginning of the Chinese campaign
against the so-called quadrilateral strategic interaction involving
India, Japan, the US and Australia and the naval exercise with the
additional involvement of the Singapore Navy.

9. The leftists’ campaign against India’s relations with the US
reflects more China’s concerns and interests than those of India. I
have never been exited over the Indo-US agreement on civil nuclear
co-operation. Nor do I share the Prime Minister, Dr.Manmohan Singh’s
enthusiasm for US President, Mr.George Bush, and the Indo-US agreement.
I am inclined to feel that what we are seeing now is a one-night stand
between Dr. Manmohan Singh and Mr.Bush. Like most one-night stands, the
happy thoughts thereafter will become an embarrassment in course of
time.

10. I also feel—-as I have stated on many occasions in the past—
that we should go slow on the development of our strategic relations
with the US, keeping in view the fact that we live right in the midst
of the Islamic world, and that about 45 per cent of the world’s Muslim
population live in the South Asian region. Ours is still a fragile
society and we should not create misgivings in the Muslim community by
overlooking their sensitivities on this subject.

11. Having said that, I also feel that we should not let the
leftists dictate our foreign policy and push it in a direction
favourable to China. I find it difficult to discount the suspicion that
the leftists have mounted their present campaign to promote Chinese and
not Indian interests.

12. After joining the IB in 1967, I went on a visit to Kolkata.
Those were the days of the Cultural Revolution in China. The Marxists
were not yet in power in West Bengal, but were very active. As I was
travelling in a taxi from the Dum Dum airport to downtown, I saw the
following slogan painted by the Marxists on the walls everywhere:
“China’s Chairman is our Chairman.”

13. The present day Indian Marxists don’t say this, but they do
believe that “China’s Interest is Our Interest.” It is this belief,
which is behind their present campaign against the Government of India.
Their hidden motive should be exposed.
