RSS has a unique concept of raising money for its activities. It relies solely on the donations of its volunteer or swayamsevaks. Once a year, all the local shakha organise Guru Pooja utsav. During that Guru Pooja utsav each swayamsevak is urged to donate money to the guru Bhagwa Dwaj to the best of their abiliteis. The offering is made annonymously. RSS does not conduct any donation drive to raise money or accepts any funds from non-swayamsevaks, including government and corporations.
However, not all Sangh Parivar organisations follow the RSS methodology of raising funds.

Rather than taking donations
Rather than taking donations Sangh should concentrate on generating funds.
I believe every member of Sangh has one or more than one areas of expertise.
Sangh should organise itself so that sangh people can get together and open a consultancy to share their views and solve problems of people and charge people nominal amount whatever people can afford to pay them in return.
I believe Sangh has several experienced doctors, engineers, editors, businessmen, teachers in its crew.
Sangh should devise plans to mobilise this force and utilise it to the maximum extent in order to expedite the success of the country.
By expeditation I mean sharing their invaluable experiences and learnings with the young generation.
Nice thought.
Nice thought. Implementation seems some what difficult but not impossible. For this we need a Person who can guide us to implement this Plan.
In my sense not only doctors, lawyers, engineers, businessmen, teachers but also particularly young swayam sevak students should participate in this program. I also suggest we should take this thought to our Bhag Kaaryaalay for selection of a person who is having leadership skills, Managment Skills and Educated. Please let me know if any further action.
These are nice thoughts but
These are nice thoughts but I would encourage you to read this before giving more suggestions http://www.sanghparivar.org/wiki/why-doesnt-rss-does-this .

‘Donation’- I am afraid
‘Donation’- I am afraid that is an utterly wrong word to be used in the context of ‘Funding’ of the RSS.
If such is the explanation given in the ‘FAQ’, it hurts the feeling of millions of Swayamsevaks, who have pledged to serve Bharat Mata ‘Tana se, Mana se, Dhana se; Tana, Mana, Dhana, Jeevana se’.
Of course, to run an Organisation, big or small, does require financial backing.
How does the Sangh do it?
In the infancy of the Sangh, when the Organisation had not crossed the periphery of Nagpur, Swayamsevaks used to ask ‘Donations’ from well wishers for the cause.
But after a few years, this practice was stopped by P. Pujaneeya Doctor ji.
He imbibed in the young Swayamsevaks (15/16 year old boys), “Ours is a Family. If there is a function in the family. We don’t go around in the neighbourhood, asking money for the cause. We raise our own resources amongst ourselves”.
This is one aspect of the finances of the RSS.
The other is, if it is a family matter, each young and old, contributes according to his own might for the cause.
There is no ‘monthly’ or ‘yearly’ contribution/subscription, because there is no ‘membership’ as such.
No age limit. Any one, who can walk in a ‘Shakha’ (Chapter) on his own two feet can walk in or walk out, on his own volition.
Devotional worship of the Guru is one of the most touching and elevating features of the Hindu cultural tradition. Sangh considers Bhagwa Dhwaj as our Rashtra Guru, which represents the Hindu culture, traditions, history, etc. and has been passed on to us from ages. On the day of ‘Guru Pournima’, also called ‘Vyas Pournima’, swayamsevaks, do ‘Guru Poojan’. They respectfully and voluntarily offer Guru Dakshina as a token of their dedication to their source of vital cultural inspiration. They do this by presenting themselves, in their local chapters, one by one, in front of the Dhwaj, offering Akshata (a few specks of raw rice, mixed with Turmeric powder) and petals of flowers. In the heart of hearts they humbly say, at the Altar of Bharat Mata, ‘Maa! Tumhare liye, hum itanaa hi kara paayen!!’.
Offering Tana (physically), they pledge to work for the cause. Offering Mana, they pledge to spread the ideology of Hindu Rashtra. Offering Dhana (Money), they pledge to bear Organisational expenses. One, two, three or all the three!
Every year, the effort is to do more and more.
The first Guru Poojan Utsav was held on the Guru Pournima day in 1928. The first amount was Rs. 84 +. It is to be noted that one of the contributions was ½ a paisa (about 1/128th of a rupee, in today’s coinage).
To day it is in crores.
But the value of a rupee given by a two-year child is same as that of one giving thousands. It is the Bhavana of sacrifice for the welfare of the family, that counts.
And through such Sanskaars, have risen thousands of pracharaks, who have pledged to remain bachelors and have dedicated their whole lives for Hindu Rashtra.
Through these Sanskaars, to day, there are such dedicated young men and women, in the US and Europe, who come forward each year, to give part of their blooming youth (one or two or three or more years) and their lucrative careers, fetching more than Rs. 40/50 lacs per year.
So it may be surmised that not a single Paisa comes from outside for the ‘Sangh Karya’, and Swayamsevaks are immensely proud of the fact. It adds to their self-respect and self-esteem.
And it is not a ‘Donation’; it is a ‘contribution’ of each one of them to the ‘Family’ upkeep.
